The "Contact Us" Link vs. Posting Here

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

I have a suggestion...

If a post here has to do with one single incidence of a misnamed/misposted item in the PDB, a correction to a subject line of a thread, or something like that, maybe it would be better for it to be requested via the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page, http://davesgarden.com/contact.php

That way, this forum won't be filled up with threads which each really only concern one finite issue, one which has been resolved immediately by Dave, Trish, or Terry.

The end result will be posts in this DG forum will be focused on things that affect the membership at large, such as new forum requests, general site improvement suggestions/requests, general questions about the operations here, system bugs, etc.

What do you think?

Thanks. :)

Very good idea, GW. I am ashamed to say that I hadn't seen this contact page before; where does it lurk? But then I haven't been to several areas yet. A quick overview of the side-bar menus didn't yield an immediate clue, I will have to search more.

lupinelover, it's at the very bottom of each page :)

Thanks! (blush) OK, I publicly admit I don't read all the way to the bottom of the page. Never did have a whole lot of patience.

Would it help if it were in a sidebar up more toward the top? I think many never scroll down that far -- I never do unless I'm looking for birthdays or that link, so maybe I'm not alone in this?

Dave or Go_Vols, in keeping with this suggestion of GW's about using the Contact area more, how about a FAQ page? I know there are many features here that I almost never use because they don't apply to me, and when I do want to use one of them, it would help to have instructions readily available in an easy-to-read format like a FAQ. I think a lot of others would find this helpful also.

Things like how to underline or bold things, how to post a hyperlink, how to add an image to various areas, etc.
