How Much Do You Make In An Hour?
=================================

A boy asked his father, "How much do you make in a hour?

The father got mad and answered roughly, "Don't bother me." He
was tired and irritable after a tough day at work, but the boy
insisted. "Please, how much do you make?"

The father said in a bad tone of voice, "$8.00 dollars for now."
Then his son asked, "Father can you loan me four dollars?"

The father said to him in a bad way, "I told you not to bother
me, shut up and go to your room!"

At bedtime the father was more calmed and felt bad about the way
he treated his son. He went upstairs to his son's room and
asked, "Are you asleep?" And he gave to the boy the four
dollars that he asked for.

The boy thanked his father, put his hand under his pillow,
pulled out four crumpled dollars, and said, "I have $8.00
dollars, father could I buy one hour of your time."

Yes it is...that's a teary-eyed one for me. However, on the other end of the spectrum...TRUE STORY FOLLOWS--->

I usually have to clean out the sprinkler systems in the greenhouse from time to time. The sprayers get clogged up with green muck/algae and have to be flushed out. Of course to do this I have to have them turned on, then remove each sprinkler head and let the force of the water clean out the nozzles. Water usually goes everywhere, especially when I have to replace the sprayers! Some sprayers are more stubborn than others and that's when I really get it. On this occasion DD was witnessing this spectacle. The water had blown my hat off, my hair was soaked, my shirt and notepads in my front pocket were soaked, my beard was wet and had bits of algae hanging from it. To top it off the radio was playing "I'll Drown In My Own Tears". DD was watching all this w/a smile on her face then she disappeared! A few minutes later she came running back w/the biggest grin on her face and handed me two dollars from her savings. Standing there as I was, completely serious, I asked her what it was for. She laughed and said in her 8 yr old voice, "Home Entertainment!"
(Glad she enjoyed the show!)

I love that youngin'! Don't think I really came alive till she came into our lives. (Course now, I reckon I was pretty alive when DW came into my life or we wouldn't be celebrating the joys of DD, eh?)

Sounds like she inherited her sense of humor honestly, Shoe! ;)
