Link to PDB from PDB picture forum?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I was browsing through the PDB picture forum tonight and went to add a comment or two to a couple of the plants the I'm growing. It gets really confusing to switch between the picture forum and the PDB and I lost my way. Would it be possible to provide the link to the appropriate entry in the PDB when a picture is posted in the picture forum?

Okay, I know what I want, but I'm afraid I didn't explain it very well.

Bottom line....if there was a link provided to the appropriate PDB entry when the pictures appear in the PDB forum, I would be very likely to add my comments if they were plants I was growing, plus if I wasn't growing that plant, if I liked it, I would likely click on the link to check it out further.

Joan, I agree it takes some work to get from the PDB forum to the PDB entry. I'll leave it to Dave to decide if/how a link directly to the entry (not just the photo) can be created.

In the meantime, I suggest having two screens open side by side, one with the PDB and one with the PDB forum. If the photo you're viewing is no longer on the front page of the PDB you can do a search for it and find it (usually) pretty easily.

I'll get this taken care of on Monday.

Thank you Terry and Dave! This will make it so much easier to add comments and learn about the plants. I'm excited!

Wonderful! I will appreciate that too, Dave, so thanks in advance!

I second that...er.. third that!! As I've whined about before, I have trouble locating the plants in the database after seeing them in the PDB forum, and this would certainly take care of that issue! Thanks, Dave & clan.

Weezing: Sorry to hijack this thread, but you need to E-mail me! I've mailed you twice about your winning the PDB contest, and you haven't responded! I need your addy! :)

Hi, Dave: Gosh, didn't get your emails..got to check into that... when did you send them? You sure surprised me... I haven't won anything since 1987 when I won a case of aircraft engine oil at an FAA seminar! To what do I owe this honor? If there's any awards going out around here, they should go out to Go_vols and Baa, since I hounded them unmercifully to correct errors and clarify many botany questions. How did we do in meeting the deadline?

Pardon my hijack also, but I e-mailed you on Friday (I think), Weezin, and hadn't heard back. E-mail problems?

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Hi, Lupinlover: No, didn't receive your message either. I've been receiving other email, though. I wonder if it is only the mail through Dave's? I'll test it out...thanks for the heads up.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Yeah, I e-mailed you yesterday or the day before, Weez!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Boy, this is really strange. I wonder if it was just on that one day? Was it through Dave's? Can you try me again, Gardenwife...boy, we've sure highjacked this thread!..sorry!

Weezing: I've been sending you mail directly (not through the site) and you're still not getting them.

I think I'm only getting local mail...DH is going to check it out when he gets home. We're on cable modem through our local cable company. I seem to be able to send out...odd.

I sent you another through the site right after I posted, Weez. Could be just the POP3 side of mail is messed up on your ISP. Does their website have a network outtages page to inform the teeming masses of their failures? ;)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Gardenwife: I'm going to start another thread on Dave's forum so that I don't highjack this thread anymore than I already have!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Dave, I just noticed that when I click on the picture it takes me to the thread, then if I click on it again, all the info about the plant is on the top and it's a link to the PDB. Either you fixed it for us or I missed that all the time. Thank you! Much easier to get fromt the forum to the PDB now.
