Is it possible to add a few things in the description part of the PDB?

On the bloom color there is a need for :
*produces red/orange/white or green terminal cone
*produces red/orange/white or green basil cone
(some of the gingers produce terminal/basil cones as an inflorescence)
On the foliage section:
*Leather-like
*ribbed

On the "other details" maybe add :

Makes an excellent cut flower

:) sorry to be a pain :)

Lisa, you're not being a pain - quite the opposite. I'm glad when someone spends time in the PDB and realizes that some things are missing or need to be changed :)

On the flower colors - what you're describing is unique to gingers, right? Can it be added in a note?

Here's the question I ask myself before I add any additional choices to the current checklists: Is it likely that a user will want to search for all plants with this attribute?

If the answer is no, then it is probably an item that is best added in a note. If it's likely that a gardener will want to search the PDB for flowers with basal cones (for example), then I would try to add it to a checklist.

I do agree with adding the leathery and ribbed foliage descriptions, as well as the cut flower description - good ideas all.

After reading your note, I immediately wondered why we don't have "good for cut flower" already in there, (and it also made me think we should have a note for "good for dried flower arrangements" too...)

I'll add your changes to a (growing) list that I need to sit down and sort through, because I'd also like to rearrange some things when I add your changes and the others I've accumulated. You should see the changes within a few days; nudge me if you don't :)
