Perennials: Looking for blue flowered perennials

Morris, IL(Zone 5b)

Looking for some blue flowered, drought tolerant perennials. Anybody out there have any good ideas?

Western, PA(Zone 6a)

Amsonia tabernaemontana is one tough customer. I have never seen it in distress. Spring bloomer, I like it for it's appearance throughout the season. Thinking of using several as a herbaceous hedge. The species A. hubrechtii comes highly recommended.

Kittanning, PA

Did a search and this is what I came up with..:
Corydalis elata

For true blue, the lithodora 'Grace Ward' is great and it can get woody so not truly herbaceous, in the same category is Caryopteris 'Blue Beard' it is blooming now is quite stunning. The anagallis or blue pimpernel is really blue too, it would probably be annual where you are though, it is borderline here, I love blue too. There are some great salvias.

Wow! Singleyellowrose, you didn't have to do a search! I was really just trying to see if there was something out there I wasn't thinking of! Thanks! That's quite a list you came up with! I do have a number of blues, but was wanting some more to fill in. Thanks for all the great suggestions folks! Will have to look some of those up, like the lithodora.

Lucky you! Didn't know there was a blue euphorbia. Will have to get busy and look some of them up.
Does anybody know if the blue malva is really blue, or if it is cold hardy to zone 5? Been thinking about investing in it for a while.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

poppysue! leave it to you!!! I just wrote in blue 794 plants came up. You are just too smart for this gal. You need to show us around the PDB. like different ways if can be used. I would of NEVER thought of just writing in a color. Don;t know why. thanks! to naturepatch too for asking the question

Morris, IL(Zone 5b)

You are very welcome! I am looking for something a bit more specific than just blue though, so a blue search would make my head spin and give me headaches! I DO wish someone here had the blue poppy that is hardy to zone 5. Think it will take me a while to find that one.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

Some one DOES have that himalian one I do believe. Check with Wezzingreens or Everet. Check in a general discussion forum and post that you are looking for one. Or in the seeds trade thing.

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)
