My edit doesn;t work

Cant add info when I click on Edit message . Cant erase either.

I'm afraid that's a by-product of my "alert" system. Following the recent problems we had in another thread, I had to place you under alert so we could keep a close eye on the things that you posted.

When we place a member under alert, we are notified of every move they make within the site, and in this manner can quickly respond to abuses of the system. Thankfully you've been a good citizen, the previous situation blew over rather quickly, and I am planning to lift the alert in a few days. I've already downgraded you from "Red alert" to "Yellow alert" so we're no longer notified of your every action. This is because the trust is slowly coming back.

When a member is under alert of any kind, they lose certain priviliges, one of which is the ability to edit their posts.

You're not the first (nor likely the last) member to be placed under alert. We've been doing it for a VERY long time and usually the member doesn't even know they are under alert. You appear to be more perceptive than most. :)

Well, I thought long and hard about whether to respond in this thread or send it via mail. In the end, I decided to send it openly, since the original thread which prompted my action was public, so should my response.

I trust the members of Dave's Garden with most internal information, and whenever problems arise, I usually tell the membership about them.

This problem was a problem that affected the membership, so I made the (difficult) decision to offer my response publically. I regret that it caused you discomfort. :(

when I hit refresh , it still has" has" spelled wrong on my screen.

I double-checked it and it's definitely spelled correctly now. I'd guess you were still seeing what's in your cache on your PC.

I just checked and you are still in our yellow alert system. As I said above, I keep a variety of members under yellow alert until the trust is returned.

By your asking me to remove your name from my list, you are also suggesting that I can trust you to have free reign on this site. I am now placing you in a position of trust by lifting the yellow alert.
