rain, rain and more rain...So, I've added plants to the PDB, made cookies, ate cookies, ate more cookies, cleaned the house, dusted even, ate cookies. Looked at my flowers out the window, ate cookies..sigh...checked in at DG every five minutes, checked email, danced with my 4 year old, colored with my 4 year old, played games with my 4 year old...ho hum...I think I'll bake something else really fattening. *big sigh*
Heard this a.m. on the weatherman that we were the 2nd to Hawaii in rain..ho hum..sigh..
Ho-Hum
O well Lisa, at least you are making the best of it! I'm trying to figure which one I want you to send me.....the rain or the cookies!! LOL I know which one I need worse...and it ain't the cookies but you can send them anyway LOL
Hang in there!
thanks mollyb for the encouragement...I think today I've given "Tropical Depression" a new meaning..

We're having rain here, too, Lisa, but we expect it this time of year. It's the last swan song of our summer, so soon I'll have to admit it's over and start dumping pots and putting things away. By the end of October, we'll be frozen solid and mulched over awaiting next spring.
After a hectic summer, I'm rather looking forward to the winter. I've got all these projects stacked everywhere, and lots of pictures of my flowers to catalog. That way, I can bring a bit of summer into the wintery days. What kind of cookies?
frozen solid in oct???! Oh my..we are still in the 90's in Oct.
cookies:double chocolate chip :-)
Well, sometimes we aren't frozen solid, but pretty close to it. First snow flurries can happen in early October. Lord, I couldn't live in 90 degree weather! We start panting and stripping off our sox when the temp gets up to 70!
Double chocolate chip!...yum.
70 is a cold snap for us...haha!
Lisa, I feel for you, I know how those days are.
We've been lucky this summer, we have been having very nice weather, in fact, it hasnt rained much at all this summer. Not looking forward to the grey skies.
Take advantage of this time and re-organize your pantry, defrost your freezer, how about working on your stained glass project? or are you done with it?
take a nap with your daughter, I use to love to take a nap with my kids...such a rarity.
the cookies sound yummy......
try a new recipe for dinner....
Nice try Lisa!! Why don't you just come right out and say you aren't sending the cookies! LOL!
We really do need the rain here though, so you could send a little of that too hee hee!
Well, I can tell ya one thing ya have not done...Gotten yer butt on MSN! Sheesh, lady! ;)
You tell her GW! I know for a fact you can still chat and eat cookies at the same time, b/c I've done that!! LOL
LOL, me too!
awww shooootz, I didn't know you was on there! HA! Oh well, I couldn't stay on long, we were waiting for an important call.We submitted an interesting bid to a customer. I was hoping for an "OK" from them. I was just bouncing in and out..:( . Jesse came home early(rained out..go figure) and is taking Sally and I out for supper...wahhooo! No more cabin fever..maybe I'll see you tonight Kim!
Sorry Mollyb for being greedy..here...(passing you the plate of cyber cookies)
mmmmmmm These are sooo good!! How'd you know I liked double chocolate chip?! ooops I think I just dropped a chunk of it in my keyboard yep you guessed it...it was soaked in milk too!! Off to clean the key board!!
Thanks for the yummy cookies!
We've had alot of rain here too - I make brownies! Looks like you're gonna get hammered for a while more too. TS Faye is just sitting there dumping a lot of rain from TX to LA. 60 mph now and hurricane warnings in TX from PO'C and a ways east along the coast. LOL Batten down the hatches, y'all are gonna get wet!!
ha! we are sandwiched in between Edward & Faye..Looks like it is gonna be a looooong fattening weekend..
Run up and down those stairs! About 10 times per cookie ought to even things out. Cabin fever....... at least it won't last too long and you will be back outside moving dirt (mud) and flowers.

Ditto Dori's post (with the exception of the heat, sorry Dori!)...
we need rain! It hasn't rained here in several weeks.
Our lawn is turning brown, my plants and flowers are struggling.
I know that our growing season is almost over,
but hey, not yet! :-)
Send some of that rain to Michigan!
I am with you JustmeLisa re: baking cookies when it rains.
Isn't that just the best?
MaryE's right...add a little "stairmaster" to the works,
and you'll burn off those cookies, pronto! LOL :-)
Lisa.........you may not know it now, sweetie, but in years to come you will treasure this time of "Cookies, Rain, and Children." Keep on spreading the joy!!!!

Uh-ohh...I'm in trubble again!? Story of my life. (So far, anyway.)
When I come to the great state of Weezyanna I'd be happy to just settle for the shrimp heads. I'll even pick em up off the floor. And when you toss them there you can just holler "hush puppy". (I'm used to feedin' like that in our part of the country.)
Boy over here rain everyday too much wet everywhere our yard sick of it soooo boring. Oh yes sound good Shrimp/Okra Gumbo, boy I am hungry for that. LOL We all love gumbo with sausage also chicken and crabs too so great.
