What next?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Sorry to post this here, but I'm stressing out big time. We are trying to finish our house, move out of the trailer, deal with the problems at the office and campain issues, and tonight when we got in the trailer after working on the house all night, the fridge quit, so we had to pitch a bunch of stuff, run to town to get ice and borrow coolers, and now we have to buy a fridge for the trailer, because we sold it with appliances. Murphey's Law I guess, but right now I'm not too fond of Murphey!

Sorry to vent here, but I had to get it out before I kicked the walls in. LOL

Ack, Joan!! Sorry you've had a cruddy night, friend. :( If it's any consolation, I mailed your washing soda today...and it is....nonperishable. ;)

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks Kimberley, and it's a darned good thing that it's nonperishable too, because everything else within these walls is either perishable (stuff from fridge), volatile (me), trying to get out (cats), or dormant (DH and kids)! LOL!

Okay, I'm feeling a bit better already with all these coolers stacked around everywhere. Just another hurdle to jump and I have a silver medal for "lets see who can pitch more stuff into the garbage can". I threw the most stuff, and Dave and Jaden were testing it to see if it was still okay. I told them I'm way too busy to have a 3 day bellyache and I'm tossing it! They can do the 'taste test' at their own risk.

Gee, I hope nobody keeps me up all night sick.

When it rains, it pours, doesn't it?
I know that it can be hard,
but trying to find some humor (in the situation)
usually helps me when things aren't going well.
If that doesn't work, then I head straight for the chocolate! LOL :-)
Hang in there, Joan.
We're all "pullin'" for you.
(((((Big hug)))))

Joan, Hope you are having a better day today. Just thinking of you and wanted you to know. Doris

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks everyone. Yes, I'm doing better today. You know, it wasn't really the fridge at all that threw me over the edge last night, it's just an accumulation of everything. I discovered that after I went to bed and started thinking of the whole day. Yesterday was a really [deleted] day all around. An hour after I got to work yesterday morning the school called and told me to come get Jaden. When I got there he was shaking uncontrollably, so I took him straight to the clinic. He was running a fever of 103. We got antibiotics but later I got to thinking about it and wished I would have asked that they do a test for West Nile. I'm surprised they didn't just do it. But he seems better today, but if it's not a lot better tomorrow I'm taking him back in again.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I'm handling things better today. Dave is off buying a new fridge for the trailer, I'm at work, and Jaden is back in school and the school hasn't called today. This is a good day so far.

Joan,

It is tough when you have things just keep building up on you. I will keep you in my prayers...Jaden, too.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Joan you always have such good advice for others going through difficult times. Why is it that we can't apply the same thoughts to ourselves....like.......one day at a time!!! :-) I'm sorry to hear of your latest mishap and of Jaden too. It won't be long before these days are behind you and you are living in your new home. I will pray for Jaden. Please keep us posted on his progress. Glad you are feeling better today!!

Oh Joan - I hope Jaden is feeling better. My stress reducer is named Ginger. I give her a hug, listen to her purr and take a few deep breaths. Aah now I feel better:) It doesn't change anything but I feel better. Now why couldn't that fridge have lasted just a few weeks longer?

Brooklet, GA(Zone 8a)

joan i know that it feels like it just never stops but things always seem to work out. isn't it great to have all these friends here at dave's to talk to when we need them. i honestly believe i would have lost my sanity along time ago with out all of you here to support me.

Joan, Take a deep breath and re-read Stephanie Plum, she always gets me laughing;still looking for #2 and #4 and have some other plans for you, when things are a bit more settled- now that should really get you worried. I do chocolate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks so much! I don't know what I'd do without all of you. You are definitely my rock and you always manage to pull me back into perspective.

An update on Jaden. He's getting better. He no longer spikes a temp of 103 when the tylenol wears off, and he's starting to feel much better as far as the aches and pains. He's back to going full boar in football too, so that's a good sign. I was afraid he was hiding how ill he really was because he was afraid we'd make him sit out a few football games, so I did the tylenol test and when it got to be past the time for the next dose, he isn't instantly getting feverish again. So, it appears that whatever it was the antibiotic is doing it's thing and knocking it out.

The fridge thing that put me over the edge and prompted the original post almost happened again tonight. I got home from work and went to fix me an iced tea and all the ice was melted. The replacement fridge wasn't working. DH called the guy we got it from and we only had to lower the settings and it started working again. Phwew!! If we would have had to pack this fridge back to town tonight I might have become a screaming maniac.

Marcia, I would love to have the time to re-read Stephanie Plum, and I will do that this winter after all this turmoil is over. I still don't have #2 or #4 either. Those are the ones the library didn't have. Let me know if your library sale ever has either. Chocolate you say? Heck, that's one of the basic food groups isn't it? It's great for breakfast. Really gets you going in the morning. And like Bill Cosby says about chocolate cake... it has eggs, milk, flour...hey it's healthy to feed the kids for breakfast! LOL! My kids never did try that though. They are all Life cereal and fresh fruit for breakfast types.

Thanks everyone for all your support, you are helping me get through all this.

Hi, I am checking at library sales and garage sales. You know that there is clinical evidence that chocolate makes you feel better-that is good enough for me!!!!!!! When does weather cool in your area=that you can guarantee under 70 degrees during the day and are you looking for plants to plant now, later in fall or next spring? I took a look at your want list and found a house warming gift>
I am glad that Jaden is feeling better and keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Hi Marcia! It's only 64 degrees now and hasn't been any warmer than that all day. But, we do get some days in the 80's still. I think as we go on into the month, we will be seeing fewer and fewer of those really warm days though.

I think that I won't be looking to do any planting until next spring. Then I'll be doing LOTS of planting and landscaping around the new house. This fall we are just concentrating on getting into that new house. :)

Housewarming gift from my want list? Thank you! I love surprises!

Well, I'd better get back to packing up some stuff. This afternoon I decided to work on packing away some of the things we can live without for a bit, and put it into storage.
