Add a couple of categories to the PDB Foliage?

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Many of the plants I grow are for foliage, ferny, real ferns, fern-leaf astilbes, fern-leaf tansy, fern-leaf corydalis, etc. That currently isn't an option, so I don't know how to list that as a searchable item.

The other concerns succulents/cactus. Many are described as fleshy or spiny or something like that. Any suggestions how to include them?

I know your preference for tight, clean looking pages; could maybe this go into a separate category of foliage texture, rather than lumping it in with the colors? Just a thought.

There is a checkbox for "grown for foliage", along with various foliage characteristics...succulents notwithstanding, are there other characteristics that need to be added? Weezin has a few that we've been kicking around - it may involve Dave changing up the lineup a bit to logically group some expanded checkboxes.

I think until you decide whether to change/add any new classifications, I will hold off posting most of my ferny/feathery plants for a few days (or weeks, depending on how busy I am outside). I will keep my eye open on this one though.

lupinelover, are you looking for a category of "grown for foliage" or one that says "ferny"? The first one is there, the second one isn't, although it's often indicated in the plant's common or botanical name....

How about a category of "Foliage Texture" that could include things like "fern-leafed" "succulent" "large-leafed" "corrugated" "coarse" etc? That way it would help give a better idea of what the thing actually looked like, many of the plants don't have images yet, and those of us without good visualization capabilities can have an easier time figuring out how it would work in our landscape.
