Gosh, that's awful. :( I wasn't that inventive as a teen...Just went for the normal stuff like cigarettes, etc. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Gwyd.

OM, I grew that from seed. Why are some so stupid? I would rather plant the seeds than eat them..

This is the reason I won't grow it in my yard. My neighbor has it and because it is so toxic, I don't want it around my girls. Of course, I hope they aren't stupid enough to eat seeds without knowing more about what they can do.

I was telling Bobbie today that we need to keep the seeds we were gathering away from our 2 year old grandson. We, I mean all of my sons and the older grandkids, eat a lot of sunflower seeds and I am afraid that one might drop and he might pick it up thinking it was a sunflower seed.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, but you also need to keep them away from tomato plants and tons of other things you grow without thinking of it. Don't let the kids eat anything in the yard at all without checking with you and you don't have a problem. Bring stuff in the house. Make it a rule. Everyone loves to pull a tomato off the vine and eat it right there, but then it's open to anything they see, they try. Emily is around my brugs all the time, but she does not put flowers or leaves in her mouth. We taught her from the beginning.

You are SO right, tiG! Daffodils, Marble Queen ivy, larkspur (dephiniums), tulips, potato plants, poinsettias and oleanders are a few of the more commonly planted, yet HIGHLY toxic plants.
