Greater fishing bat for mings

Bremerton, WA(Zone 8b)

Awesome looking bat...I'd love to be able to see it hunt!! I never knew there were fish-eating bats. Now I have another interesting type to read up on.

When we were kids, we used to toss pebbles in the air to watch the bats swoops down after them thinking it was a bug...children are unknowingly cruel...hope I never hurt them, if they ate the pebbles.

bitty1..loved the rain dance story!!! GardenWife...thanks for posting the book info..I'll be searching for a copy today...sounds a beautiful story to read.

Phil...you have what I think is a most wonderful and rewarding career...sure wish I was young enough to start over...because I'd have to find a job like that.

I have so much I want to say & ask in the Bat catagory...think I'll start a new thread. Posted here because I know that there are many other that may not have read these and would enjoy them as much as I am.

I only started a few years ago and only work part time. Most of the bat stuff is voluntary (in fact the trip to Belize was very expensive - but SO interesting)

Yes, these are wonderful looking bats aren't they - little furry teddy bears lol!
We also caught a frog eating bat, but I'm not sure where the photo is. If I find it I'll post that too, they're sweeties as well....

Mark's a licenced batworker too, so he'll probably join in. In fact that was how we met and then, when we found we were both into plants as well, he told me about DG
