Look how the membership #'s jumped just recently. Isn't this great!!

Joydie1 - This number reflects "all" members, paid and un-paid.

Western, PA(Zone 6a)

I joined just a while ago when the number was in the high 15,000's.

Joydie,
I think Dave would be pleased if 10% of these numbers were "paying members", then he would be coming somewhere in the region of at least making the costs ends meet.

Have a look through the Member List, and see how many are subscribers, and how many are viewers (but members) at Dave's Garden.

So, please.... before it starts.... let's not get into who pays, and who doesn't..... have a wee look first ;-)

It is still great that were moving quickly to the 20,000 point.

All the best

The number of members is wonderful and I am sure will keep growing. But the misconception or them being paid members as well as Dave and Trish rolling in the big bucks is not accurate. I don't know the facts and figures and don't care to know but I am sure they don't even make enough to cover expenses not to mention the time they spend making the website the very best it can be. So thank you Dave and Trish for making this the best site, which I am sure with the highest membership around.

hehe winter I think we where writing at the same time.

WEll said, Peggy me girl!! I agree. Jo

We have 646 subscribed members, FYI. Not at all of them are annual subscribers, either. We have a slew of 2-monthers at $5 each.

We are covering our costs, but nothing more. I still do outside work (software development consulting, etc) to feed the family.

I wasn't trying to start controversy here. I just saw the numbers jump and thought that was great.

No controversy at all! :)

(And, we will hit 18,000 today! I need to think of something special for the 20,000 mark.)

A free mug, cookbook, and crepe myrtle to the 20,000 memember; subscribed or not.........if fact I think this would be an incentive to subscribe!!!!

T- shirt...what else do you have in your "shop" Dave? Maybe do it in the form of a draw for sign up...put the nics in a hat and pull some for winning prizes...

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Or how about a trial membership, so they can get "hooked" on DG, too?

Hamilton, Canada

trial membership for 3 months is good...maybe 6 months is better...

Western, PA(Zone 6a)

How about a prize for the 700th, 800th, 900th, and 1000th paying member.
