San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL CC and Dee.......I am too old! I still find it absolutely amazing!! A drugstore! Do you have such a thing where you are? I am old fashioned......I guess. If I wanted I could get a medical release for it, I have glaucoma. I may if my medicines stop working but I really can't see doing it......no pun intended!!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

I have Glaucoma too, but I don't thinks it's approved here in GA, Lol!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I'll send you some seeds.....LOL!

I probably have a different kind than you do.......I have Pigmentary Glaucoma, they caught it thank god when I was about 32. So I am very lucky I am still seeing. I think that is why I just love looking at flowers so much. Dave's has been great esp. because of all the pictures I get to enjoy. Plants I never would see otherwise. Very special to me. I really appreciate being able to! Thanks everyone for sharing!

Hamilton, Canada

Owennnnnnnnnnnn how cruel...lol..yall need to send them HG plants up NORTH...Arlene run over to Erics and find those HG plants and cutings...lol...

(Zone 6a)

Yep....that's me....cruel:) I think I will just bring the HG, as well as the small plants from it in basement for the winter....give it one more year to shape up. LOL

Hamilton, Canada

LOL Owen, that sounds like a tall order for that plant...gosh ya gonna give the HG a complex...lol

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't have any cuttings to trade, bummer.........sure would like to have a cutting or two. Not like you don't have enough offers/requests.

"eyes"

(Zone 6a)

Just so it doesn't get a rash, Joyce.....a little complexion won't hurt it:) LOL

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Okay, what the heck's an HG? I figured out that it's a brug, but...? And H. cannibinus?

Crestedchik, "Oh, that explains it"...I'm with you!!! (Just kidding, Kell...hey, go to photos in a sec, I'm putting something there for you!!!)

Hamilton, Canada

Owen you talk nice to HG or it won't reward you with any blooms!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

meiyu, it's Herrenhauser Garten, a double orange.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Huh?!! Did I read it right? He's not gonna throw them out!!!??? Hey, Joydie1, tell him how much I talk, they'll love me!! I even answer for them!! Hahaha!!!

I grow HG too. Till now it has only been stem and leaves, but I hope to see at least a few flowers, before bringing the Brugs in. If HG doesn`t like my climate I will hope for a few flowers and then see, what cross will make a similar that keeps flowrs on. That`s why I haven`t thrown mine out in spite of its reputation. *lol*

btw. It this the longest thread in DG`s history?

Hamilton, Canada

Meiyu,
He tossed the HG already, can you imagine? Ludger was able to get a seed pod on his. Here's hoping Ludger's pod does well.

Tonny for sure keep it and try pollinating it. Its one that definately needs improvement. I want a dark, dark orange suaveolens type flower from HG and maybe a dark orange aurea type...shoot anything dark orange would make me happy.
HG as it is seems to be a WHITE ELEPHANT...lol. That picture will make you want to run out and do anything to get it, but alas, not many flowers.

FSH, TX

Why not use an aurea x suaveolens to get your dark orange...crossed to Hg...heck..both sound like worthwhile crosses though. I have to admit I love the color on HG. Sure wish I could have gotten Rosabelle pollen on that one.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Tonny, it's gotta be...if you don't keep up with this thread every day, it's too hard to find time to read what you missed!! Thank God for Dave putting in that "skip to first new message" thingy, right?
Joydie doesn't ask for much, does she? Hehehe...
Brugman, the day I understand whatever it is you and half of the others here are talking about, I'll be a proud brug gardener!!! Of course, I'll be too old to garden anymore and too blind to see it, but I'll be telling my grandchildren, "If I'd known then, what I know now, you kids would be looking out the window at triple flowered brugs instead of those generic pink things out there...they are still out there, right?" They'll be shaking their heads sadly, for they will realize grandma's dementia has her living two decades in the past when she had that garden...the one in the pictures their parents showed them once upon a time.

Hamilton, Canada

Brugman,
What aurea x suaveolens is the deepest pink? Or do I start with just a white and then cross to HG? Did you know that Larry's Nina Lane has some double genes in it? I have some smaller seedlings of that one and by the time I get the HG hopefully they will flower at the same time. Oh this is just too much excitement. Why didn't I pay more attention in my genetics class back in university? Geesh.

Joydie, I will try. I will try!

Eric, I think you are right about using an orange aurea x suaveolens or maybe Ocre. No, not x candida. Its probably the candida in HG, that are making all the trouble with falling buds. *lol* Maybe after all Nina Lane won`t be so bad either, but all will probably come out white. *lol* Imagine triple or quartriple Nina Lane`s with long tendrils and backwards curling edges. Even if all ofspring will be white or close to white, they wouln`t be so bad at all. What already intrigues me now is, that a suav or suav. hybrid can be double. *lol* I knew for a year, that aurea could, but the suav. was really a nice surprise. Do Larry have HG to try or do any HG`s have Nina?

Meiyu, good howling wolf! *lol* I think you already understanfd lots more, than you realize. You just don`t know yet. *lol* Knowledge, when you continue to take it in, has a habit of storing in your unconscious. Right now it don`t seem to make much sens. It will seem more like a chaos of information, but one sudden day it will all be sorted out and stand out in crystal clear and well defined patterns. I don`t know, why it is so. Natures working I guess. It won`t be long, before you are making hybrids of your own and talks, so that even Eric must ask you to explain again. *lol*

Hamilton, Canada

Tonny I don't know if Larry has HG or not, but you have Nina Lane, its the Betty Marshall cross. He told me to change all of my ones labelled Betty Marshall crosses to Nina Lane.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I know the suitcases are empty. But I want to be #100 follow up. LOL
But if any left ..trading is always welcome (o:

At what number of replies does a thread crash???
#101

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Tonny, that's what I'm saying...I'll be very old by then!! hahaha!!!
How do we know what number we're on????

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Above the first posting, the replies and views are listed. Above where you click to watch a thread.

Joydie, mine is already changed. Did it when Larry mailed the NL double flower. *lol* However, I am not sure that the NL x seeds will have double flowers, since they are NL hybrids, but I am feeding them as crazy to see, what surprises they have in store for me.

*lol* Alice. :-)

Liz, calling post 101. *lol* There are critters in my Brugs. What to do about it. I tried to persuade them it was wrong, but they won`t listen.

Meiyu, no the brain works faster. *lol* Its like a puzzle of 9.000 pieces to collect. You just keep feeding your mind and don`t worry. It´s like a Guardian Angle. It will understand for you, what you don`t understand and collect the puzzle for you. First in smaller fragments (kind of Aha!-experiences), the the fragments is put together and you will know all there is to know. *lol* Neurological speaking we are used to think and sense through the frontal lobes, but when we leave the thinking to the hypothalamus and the limbic system, wonderful things starts to happen. *lol*

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Ahh..
So that's what has been happening all my life. NOT thinking with my frontal lobes ;-)
Thanks, Tonny, for that information (o:
Now I know what has been wrong with me. LOL

*ROFLOL*

Tonny,
As I understand it, the Nina Lane seeds are the double hybrid offspring of the Betty Marshall cross, I don't know that they are Nina Lane x ?. I'll check with Larry to be sure. Now I'm going to start a new thread so I don't crash this one. As I do recall the Morning Glory contest thread was the longest with over 200 replies..

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

no, it's long, but the longest were on and about Sept 11th and when we went to subscription.

Hamilton, Canada

TiG, you are probably right..I can't even remember yesterday let alone that far back. (smile) TiG I hope you and Arlene can work something out so that the two of you can do the Butterfly x Rosabelle. I'll be excited for the two of you.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

arlene is my sister, we got it under control:)

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

So, Tonny, you're saying that even after that frontal lombatomy I had, I'm still gonna get it someday??? Hehehe...are you a neurologist or something? By the way, somebuggies are eating my brugs too, but they don't have the guts to make themselves known to me. I saw a grasshopper on my cannas, so he could be the culprit?
Joydie1, are there any kinds of brugs called the Sean Connerry or Mel Gibson? And should you be talking like that online...really!...getting excited about tig and arlene doing the butterfly thang together? Hahaha...especially when Arlene is Tigs sister!!! Hahaha!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

and Eric is my baby brother:) imagine!

Hamilton, Canada

LOL Meiyu You've gone off....lol. yeah it could be grasshoppers. The little suckers thought they would feast on my brug leaves but I SWISHED them. Had a short funeral for them, prayer for forgiveness of any unborn offspring and then watered my brugs.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Hahaha...gosh I'm gonna miss you guys (and I'll be up all night Saturday trying to read what I've missed on this thread alone!)
tig, who's eric?

*LOL* Meiyu! No, I`m not a neurologist and don`t even have a formal education, but the riddles of life fashinates me and to able to come near to an explanation I have studied mythology, legends, history, philosophy, neurology etc.

Before I started all this I naively thought, that the individual and the world was two different things (me in here, the world out there *lol* Dualism), but after many years I think, that there are no solid world, but merely random, chaotic impulses, that first attain their meaning, when these impulses are intrepretated by the brain. Solidity (matter), time, Space, Identity etc. is nothing else but the categories or inherent models, that the brain projects out in this chaos. *lol* Its a long story and difficult to explain in a few sentences. *lol*

tiG, *lol* Glad that you started to switch family members.*lol* Liz got my brother promised and will ask him to carry the pots, when we rain, eh no ... help to clean up Monikas compost area. *lol*

FSH, TX

Okay guys...I am still getting emails asking for cuttings. Please, everyone....Arlene has them all. Mob her not me.

san antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

Wow, Tonny, it'd be really fun to sit and listen to you for a while, I bet...especially if I still smoked the same cigarettes I did back in the 70's...hehehe!! I enjoy the metaphysical sciences.

Brugmansia, is there a way you can get the title of this thread changed? Perhaps that would help...hahaha!!!

Lord, I just checked my email, and its full, and I need to rest for my trip. Most of it looks to be from DG people, so I hope you guys read my apology here, and sorry, but I can't write back to anyone til probably Sunday.

MaVie and Gingerlily, that plant that's marked pink cone, is not a cone flower, I just don't know what it's called. It looks like a snowcone when if blooms. I forgot to tell you. Hope you guys get your pachages today, and everything got there okay!

See everyone next week...hope I don't get separation anxiety while I'm gone and my flowers are alive when I return!!!!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

meiyu, eric is Brugmansia aka brugman

meiyu, I never smoked grass. *lol* Nor Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. *lol* Some experiences is similar to the last kind of adventures though hyperestetichal phase, thunnel), but I closed in on them from an interlectual view point. *lol* Glad we both enjoys the metaphysical sciences. :-) Well, back to Brug paradise. *lol*

Eric, you must be swimming in e-mails by now. Hope the flood of them ceases. *lol* Arlene, watch out. The e-mails will rush into your mailbox now. :-) Keep up the good work both of you.
