I,m home but sad news

after 12 years of faithful service and many camping trips i had to put my tent down. it
suffered a gun shot wound while in storage several years ago but was skillfully
repaired by a friend. over the next few years the corners started to go out. as that
happened i started to put a carport canopy over it to make it water resistant. the
other day as i made my bed it suffered a rupture as a ran my hand along the side and
the fabric gave away. i did salvage several things from it for transplanting
the zippers for what i am not sure yet
the screens to make drying racks
the floor for the bottom of a pavilion

Sad news - but all is not lost, I think after 12 years, you probably got your $$'s worth.

That was a nice long friendship. Well, you have said goodbye to an old friend, and now it is time to go out and get you a brand new one.

My condolences. ;) Your tent will always remain with you in spirit, err, in parts.

It is not uncommon to attach ourselves to certain things which we use over the years. It becomes sentimental. That's why so many things are hoarded in the attic. But then, a time will come for a replacement. Troy, try to find other uses for the old one after you buy a new one.

while I am sure you will move on and get another tent, nothing will replace your old tent. It is always sad to see the passing of a friend. As time passes you the hurt will be somewhat easier. I am sure that you will find many days looking at old photos, reminiscing...remember how it 'was'. *grin* ;-) Just remember, there is some tent out there..sitting on a shelf..waiting for someone to give it a good home...

Oh this is breaking my heart!!!! It sounds like we are talking about a lost puppy or the passing of a person. Boo Hoo! Somebody get me some kleenex quickly!

If you get some nylon, you can rebuild it: Frankentent!

LOL GW!!!

I'm just imagining, FRANKENTENT!!!

Big stitchmarks along the sides and a BOLT instead of zips!!! LOLOL

Sorry Troy, but that would be the killer tent ;-)

Wintermoor

oh my god didn't think this would go any where.was suprised to see there was a responce then shocked to see there was "10". now i'm sitting here bawling laughing. I could just imagine "FRANKENTENT!!!" mine was tan and blue and there was another in camp this year that same thing happened to. it was the same style also but the door was in the end instead of the side, it was gray and red and was weak in different places it would have been a real hoot to take the two and make one from it.

Kim, you are something, Gal! Where in the world do you get such funny ideas? Say how is that new puppy doing? I am glad you rescued her/him and know that she/he will be a joyful addition to your happy home.

My dogs are curled together, sleeping at my feet on the couch and keeping my feet warm.

There's no pup tense here.

Pup tents.....Hardy har har!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You must be eating razor blades for lunch to be so sharp. Now that is an old line, in fact so old I hate to use it. LOL
