i have followed 5 peoples's instructions and do not get a drop box.
is anyone else not getting the drop box???
have you tried moving the mouse just a hair while it's on the name? (sorry, I'm sure you have...)
Pebble thanks for answering. i have tried everything. just wondering if i am the only one.
You're not alone Arlene, I'm not getting it either...can't even sneak up on it.
Jean
Arlene, I thought I wasnt gettin it - but if i move the cursor around a bit, it will pop up...
arlene, what version and type of browser are you using? Some older versions of MSIE won't display "mouseovers" or "rollovers".
pebble, i have wasted enough time on this. i have moved it, slid it, tried to "kiss" the bottom right hand corner of the name, left and came back........... tried every little letter on every name.
jj, nice to see you, have blooms on CG, waiting for it to open. how are your brugs?
Could it be your browsers are set to not do any java script? Is this even a java issue? It's more like the alternate text you sometimes see if you hover over a picture online -- it's not really a drop-down box. I looked at the code and it doesn't look like it requires any scripting. Am I right on that? I am a novice!!

Arlene - what browser are you using? Do you just have it with the original default settings, or have you changed any options in it since installing it?
gardenwife, thank you. netscape, may not have the java script. glad to have a clue, will look into it later, or maybe see if my kid can tell me.
arlene,
Your browser is too old. It doesn't support the effect required for these boxes.
You are using Netscape 4.78, made obsolete by Netscape 6.2 (and Netscape 7 beta). If the feature is really important to you, it might be worth upgrading.
(You can still get the same details by just clicking on their name, by the way)
dave
thanks dave. i know there was something. i like my old one, but maybe the newer netscape has more bugs taken out of it. i installed the new one last fall and it had too many bugs for me.
arlene, there have been a lot of changes since last fall. Almost a year's worth of them!
I've been using the new Netscape for about 6 months now and am completely sold on it.
(Plus, DG was designed for Netscape 6 or better. The IE folks are missing out :-)
dave
Now I'm wondering what I'm missing Dave? LOL! I think it's great with IE and can't imagine how it could be any better, but you always seem to surprise me when you do make a change and it just keeps getting better and better.
okay, dave, gonna try it again !!! thanks. (i still use word perfect 6.1 too, old foggy here).
Well, I'm gonna download the new Netscape and give 'er a whirl if it's better. Last time I tried it, it was preview release 6, and it an slower than molasses. I "grew up" on Netscape and never thought I'd switch to IE, but I did. Goody, goody, new software to play with! :D
Let me know how it goes Kimberley. I don't have the patience to try this.
Added as an afterthought:
If you email me and don't hear back from me, it's because my email is iffy on the receiving end right now.

just got the new netscape installed, i can see the boxes. very painless installation. the download starting stalling at about 70% complete, had to restart it at least a dozen times, the last time with 14 seconds left to go!!!!
Arlene, at least you're getting the boxes now.....hip hip hooray!
yes, pebble, and the new broswer too! guess i won't have to avoid sites that "don't support my browser" anymore!
