Thank you yardbird! An update

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

This is so great,I thought I'd share this with the whole Garden.

At the roundup, yardbird brought me some fabric that she had rescued from the dumpster. It was from a place that makes hospital scrubs and there was A LOT of it. She brought 3 ,33 gallon tubs packed full!

I had told her that my mom's quilt club quilts for charity and that they could probably use it. Anyway,Mom was thrilled and her club had a meeting to discuss how they were going to use it.

I can now report that the first 'homeless shelter' quilt has been cut out and is ready to be sewn together. They also contacted another club when they found out how much fabric is involved and they are going to share it with them too. This club makes quilts for kidney dialaisys patients.

Yardbird, you can be so proud of the wonderful uses that your 'rescued' fabric is going to.You did a really great thing by taking the time and effort to care for these scraps before you found a home for them. They are going to make a lot of people very happy.

As soon as the first quilt is done,I'll post pictures!

I'm just proud that they are going to such good causes. I will get back with you this fall and bring the rest that I have to you.

That is so great!!! I admire the ladies that put so much time, effort and energy in making these quilts, and of course Yardbird, good thinking on your part to rescue the fabric....
It is a very good thing to do and your gifts will be appreciated.
