I have a confession to make.

I finally made it to GW house to meet the traveling ladies. I have always thought that Cala was stuck up and was prepared to tell her so. When we had the chance to talk I told her exactly what I thought, only to end up apologizing. I couldn't believe how nice she really is, I am not just saying this because she twisted my arm lol but because its the truth. Cala if you get the chance to read this when you get home and rested up, I want to say that it was truly a pleasure to meet you and your lovely daughter and glad that I have found a new friend in you.

Wind, I think it's human nature to misjudge others sometimes, but very humbling when we realize, we were wrong.
That admission makes you a mighty big person in my eyes!!
Cala, is one of the sweetest, most giving people I believe I have encountered in the garden. Hugs to you BOTH!!

Oh Wind you are so right. She truly is a princess of a person,(maybe a QUEEN) The only thing I know sweeter than she all have wings and we refer to them as Angels. I really enjoyed meeting her and her daughter and wish I could have been forunate enough to paid a visit to her greenhouse.

Eye's your so right about our misjudging other's which I try to avoid but I couldn't have been more wrong. I hope that one day I will be able to visit her green houses and bring her a present and not take a thing from her.

Now!Now! Jim we don't want to swell her head lol she is a beautiful lady as well as having a lovely spirit. I wish that you and DW could have been there that would have just made my day even better.

RR I sure have heard it and I have it as well, boy I wish I had thought to bring it with me and played it for the gang.

Cala is a very sweet, kind, and humble young lady. But did you also notice how the photos here do not do her justice? She is so beautiful. Ok, Cala, please don't think I'm saying your photos on DG are bad - LOL...I'm just saying how gorgeous you are. I told her at the roundup I think she looks just like Rachel Hunter.

Vic, I agree: Cala's photos do not do her justice at all. She looks like them on the outside, but they just don't capture her at all. Maybe that is why I hate to have my picture taken? It may be me on the outside, but I don't think the real "me" comes through at all.

My confession: I got a very severe inferiority complex when I learned Cala was a professional. I pictured this lady who was just "humoring" me! I am a definite amateur, and she isn't, and I felt about 2" high (not in real life!) I am so glad to tell the world that she is the most thoughtful, generous, understanding person it was ever my good fortune to spend an afternoon talking with.

Cala, when you read this thread, I know your face is going to be so red! Someone print it out and mail it to her daughter on her 13th birthday! Mom really did know everything, even back then! LOL

I was shocked when I read this LOL I have never thought of anyone here as stuck up.

Cala is a lovely lady who really knows her stuff :)

Wind I kinda know where you are coming from I never thought Cala was stuck up I knew she was a sweetie but it sure worried me the first time she came to see me I thought I am going to look like a complete A**. lol But it was so cool we could talk and got along great felt like I knew her all my life. I think the fact that she knows so much and has such beautiful gardens scares us. She is as down home as the rest of us. Wind I sure wish the rest of you could have come on down here today to finish out the fab fours tour. Would love to meet ya someday.

When Wind told me this, I was so surprised!!(BTW, you aren't the only one who's told me they thought I'd be stuck up) Till I started meeting DG folks, I wasn't comfortable around strangers but you guys are like family. On the trip, everyone that I met from DG seemed like family. I think everyone here is great.
Of all the folks on the tour we took, meeting Kathleen made me the most nervous till I met her!! She was a dear!!(and don't mention that I thought Poppysue was an old lady!!)

Just wanted to add that I think suzie is one of the most generous,kind humble angels I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!!!

Lol Cala was using my puter and posted stuff then she came in and said it was time to go her face was red as fire. lol she wouldn't tell us what she posted but now I see . She really is a sweetie folks! And you know what she fit in that car just fine! lol

I told her I was going to post my true feeling about her here. When I am wrong, I say I am wrong and I couldn't have been more wrong. I am so glad that I had the chance to meet her and see for my self just how nice she really is.
Cala now if you head get's to big I can help squeeze it back down to size lol

Know what impresses me so much about Cala? She is so much in the know about plants, and you think maybe this is the college instructor you really dreaded, but when you meet her, she is just so soft spoken, and just so sweet and then there's Lauren, who will grab you with her very outgoing personality and just plain happiness, and Bill, who like my Billy, is just so patient and just as much personality as Lauren and just as nice as Cala. Sweet, sweet sweet family.

Awwwwww Roz, I gotta get back down there to see you!! Bill really enjoyed visiting with you.
