Do you suppose the sentence could be commuted as she freely admitted to the crime. I realize ignorance is no excuse, but I'm feeling a bit, um, reluctant to see such a harsh sentence when I may at some future date be, ummm, in the same position...

Not that I would ever put a brug in a closet, break it's arm and sun scald it all in one season, mind you! I mean, I even gave the little moon lily to Lauren so it would have a better home than I am able to give it. That should count for something against any possible future, umm, crimes against brugmanity. And I really think that this unnamed brug lover (who has 2 border collies and goats) has seen the error of her ways.

Kathleen, I tried to make sure she had plenty of new starts to prove that she could be a good brug mommy.(and if anyone sees the blackmail photos of another certain persons brugs, just ignore it, I was framed)

I too was surprised that such a sweet person abused her brugs that way and to make it worse, it bloomed!!!

If I had known this before Cala I would have filled that basket right full of cuttings for her when she was here so she could practice Brug care as part of her sentence.LOL

and to think I had promised her cuttings this fall!!! little does she know what she's in for!

Snow, the cuttings made it here in pretty good shape. CC gave her some too. I've got several hundred pods, so should send them to her and tell her she has to grow them till they bloom!!!

LOL. I'm glad they made it ok on such a long trip. I think Carol will have her work cut out for her this winter.If I had known she was going to get a Brug sentence I would have filled the basket to over flowing. :)

Last summer I bought my first brug because I thought they were beautiful. I didn't want it to freeze so I put it in my closet hoping it would go dormant. In February I moved it to the living room to begin waking it up from it's winter nap. In April I tried to carry it out the door, but I accidentally broke a branch on the way through. I immediately applied first aid and placed the branch in a pot of soil. I know that this is an unusual propagation method, but it worked! I had asked my DH to move my brug after a couple of hours to a shady area; but he was busy tilling our vegetable garden and forgot, so then it got sunburned leaves. I gave it alot of tender loving care and the result was that it bloomed for me in June! See it turned out alright! lol
The reason that this whole sordid brug story came out was that I was trying to convince Kathleen that she would be able to grow brugs too! Now you see what she did to me! lol
The only thing I believe I am guilty of is for being a lurker in this forum, so I am pleading for mercy from you all - the brug jury!

Carol, i recmomend you be sentenced to posting and not lurking! brugs are so forgiving and easy, that's a lot of their charm for me. and i root all brugs in soil.

Oh Kathleen, I think you should stick around. One never knows what might show up in their mail box.

WEll you guys - if you have all those brugs that you need to give away - and by all means if you are hard pressed for somewhere to send them, gosh - I hate to see all of you so stressed. I'll just rise to the challenge - if you need someone to adopt some of those cuttings - I'll try my best to make some room.....

I am but a newbie gardener, with aught but a precious few plants in which to allure the butterflys and parfume the garden. I do work hard to till the soil and amend for the seeds of which the kind villagers of DG have sent my way. This lowly newbie gardener is most touched at the kindnesses sent to her and cherish each packet sent herethus. I look to the day of the bounty which the seeds will fill bed upon bed, basket upon basket, vase of vase, all of these abounding with blooms so colorful. But My Lady Faire, I have naught of the beauty of the Brugs.
