Gosh Wintermoor, a sad day. We can only imagine your difficulties. We think we have problems. We don't, compared to yours. Here's to a speedy recovery to all in Hamburg.

Garden destroyed
Hi Wintermoor,
Sorry to hear about your garden...can you e-mail me with a list of what you want/lost? I will be most probably in France come tomorrow..yes,it seems I just can't stay home this month...but I have lots to dig up(my garden runneth over)and send you.My Monarda is Squaw, and I have a lot of lilies in my Schrebergarten.Tons of other things, too, but give me this week to recover from jetlag first before I start listing them.
We had a downpour here too,but not as bad as you did.
Best wishes,Gwist
Oh my Wintermoor. I'm so sorry you lost your whole garden. You and your family are safe though and that is what counts. It's a shame you won't enjoy your flowers this year but they should come back next year for you.
My condolences, Wintermoor. Can you post a picture ... so glad you posted earlier for the landscaping contest. What a neat thing you did to transform that garden spot! I'm sure it was the talk of the neighborhood ... and they all will be watching to see how you will do the next transformation. We will be, too. God bless you, gardener friend.
so sorry to hear this-i have been devestated in the garden this year-with the weather beating and breaking plants!
my heart goes out to you!
Hope you were able to save some of your babies today, Wintermoor...........may rainbows, and sunshine befall you!!

Oh, Winter, how heartbreakingly sad. And you were just helping another friend who has being hit by floods a couple weeks ago. To get them yourself is just so sad. Sounds like everyone is so anxious to help, I am too, if there is anything I have you want, just write and jets fly back and forth all the time!
But as others have said, don't give up on some of those perennials! Their roots are really hardy. A severe flood got my yard a few years ago (9" of rain on already saturated ground in an hour -- wow!) and almost all my perennials came back without any trouble.
Wintermoor,
I hope that things re-grow quickly for you.
I don't have a big variety,
but if I can help with any plants or seeds,
please let me know.
Barry ... i feel for ur lost :(. i hope when daylight came, u are able to rescue some of ur plants. i know exactly how u feel, having lost a garden myself i nurtured for some 30 yrs. hope things aren't as bad as they seem to be. i may not be able to physically help, but in spirit i am there along side with u. take care, and good luck!
Oh Winter I am so sorry! I wish I knew how to help but there is no way to make up for the things you lost. I will be happy to send you seeds for next year.
