PDB Hyperlinks in my Journal?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

At the bottom of http://davesgarden.com/journal/viewentry/18208/index.html there are several hyperlinks to PDB entries. Same thing at http://davesgarden.com/journal/viewentry/11724/index.html

I didn't go through all my journal entries to check, but I did see some entries which don't have such links. Is it pulling from keywords from the journal entries and trying to bring up possible matches in the PDB? Knew you'd want to know! :)

Hmmm, a definite bug. I'll fix this (this evening).

Cool, thanks. For a moment there, I fancied I'd see a dogflower or Emma mater or something at the links referenced! ;)

Okay, I got rid of that problem. It was matching genus/species and cultivar against the PDB, and if there was a match, a link would be presented.

In the case of journal entries that had nothing for genus, species, or cultivar, it would link to any plant in the PDB that also didn't list the genus, species, or cultivar.

It now checks to be sure you have actually entered something before it runs the link check. If those fields are empty, obviously it's not a plant that is being journaled so there should be no link.

Aaah, wow! And I understood what you said. Cool, and thanks. :)

Does it give a hyperlink only for plant names found in the item names? Or does it do it for genus/species names found in the text area of the entries on each item page?

For example, on this item page: http://davesgarden.com/journal/viewentry/15056/index.html I have Proboscidea louisianica typed into the text on the May 24th entry, but there's no hyperlink. If I typed in a genus/species name up where I have "☼4☼☼☼☼ May" entered, would there be a hyperlink?

Wingnut: It goes by the entry name, so those kinds of entries called "Plants growing this month" wouldn't match anything in the PDB.

Here's an example of where it would show up: http://davesgarden.com/journal/viewentry/8121/index.html

Well, isn't that just too neat for words. Thanks, Dave!
