Ok, this is something everyone can do. We all need to add some plants to the Plants Database. We are getting VERY close to having 50,000 plants listed. If we all work together, we can add quite a few more in a relatively short amount of time.
Are you up to it?
If you don't have something in your own yard, research a plant that you'd like to have that isn't currently listed. Also, if you have a photo of a plant in the database, you can upload it so all of us can benefit from your garden experiences.
Something else that would be super helpful is if you can add some comments about growing conditions and such of plants that are already listed in the Plant Database. Sometimes a plant is listed, but not much information is included. If you know something about a certain plant, share it with the rest of us. We'll all benefit that way.
Thanks.
You can do this!
Interesting timing. Vols and I have been discussing the second annual PDB Contest. Last year we had a contest for plants, photos and comments, and it doubled the size of the database in one month.
We are on the verge of announcing the second contest (I think vols may post it today). Prizes will be announced and everything! It'll be fun and will grow the PDB even more. Stay tuned!

Yep, Smiln you must have been reading my mind, or you have simply impeccable timing!
Here's a link to the thread I just posted: http://davesgarden.com/showthread/306985.html
(I promise ya'll this is purely coincidental. I emailed the draft announcement to Dave this morning for him to review. In the meantime, Smiln comes up with the same idea - you know what they say about great minds thinking alike, lolol.)
Terry,
That is unreal. I posted a whoppin' 15 minutes before you did. How strange is that?!
I had no idea you guys were thinking along these lines, too. I was looking up a plant in the database to show someone a picture and I noticed how close we were to 15,000 and just jumped in. I guess I should have asked first, yes? :)
