How about a thread on time management as related to gardening and keeping up with the rest of your life/? This is a problem for many of us I know. How do people keep up witht their gardening and yeet get all therest covered?? I live alone and I know some of these dear folks work full time and raise families and yet manage it all?? Just a thought?

Marclay, you can start such a thread - I'd recommend putting it in the General Discussion forum. Include time management (or something similar) in the title, and pose your question, suggestions, hints - I bet you'll get some good ideas generated.

Vols I meant a forum not a thread Deadheaded today

I've updated the subject line to reflect this. If we get a good turnout of members interested in this, we'll make the forum!

Time management? Yes! I need some help in that department, especially this summer when I am burning the candle at both ends and the middle too!

New gardens and existing gardens, new house building, old house cleaning, cooking for a crew, a never ending pile of laundry, full time job, campaigning to try to keep the job, grocery shopping, school shopping, trips for college orientations....oh my, yes, this would be a good thing for me.

I would enjoy a forum on time managment too! I've been reading a lot over at organizedhome.com and they have some great ideas. It's just that with us gardeners, it's like Marclay said, we could utilize it as far as "how in the world do you keep up with the rest of your life when you would rather be in the garden". I hope this forum is a go! Thanks!

Sounds like it would be a good forum. It would be beneficial to learn how people have streamlined their gardening chores, too.

I have been trying to make my life more organized lately also. I have read some good articles and books on the subject but am just starting to try to make some of the ideas work for me. Everybody's needs are different, however. For that very reason, I think it would be a good forum for those of us who are really getting serious about getting our lives organized.

Well, that's 5 members. That's my usual magic number, so I'll go create this forum. It will appear shortly under the Miscellaneous section.

You cannot manage time. You can only manage events.

I'll give you the basic message of a book I've written (and am trying to get published) on this very topic.

You first need to take some time to determine what your priorities are. Make a list of, say, 10 things/people that you truly cherish. Then, (short version of the book) you compare everything you do with that list. If you're doing a lot of things that don't really matter to YOU, then you aren't living your life the way it ought to be lived.

Many people, especially women, do a lot of things to please other people instead of focusing on their own values and beliefs. Make the tough choices to live according to what you truly cherish and you'll experience peace of mind in a way that you never have before.

My book has a religious focus, thus the title is: Simplify to Glorify. I just compressed about 68 pages into a two paragraph summary. :)
