Well, here I am.

Jesteburg-Wiedenhof, Germany(Zone 8a)

back again safe and sound, Folks!!!!

Let me say thank you from my heart for all of the good wishes, which I have just read, as I just got back in the door about 30 minutes ago.

My wee boy Joe kept phoning me on my mobile, and told me about the people writing in, and it was nice to take my mind off the rain and wind at the river.

THANK YOU ALL!!!

The dyke is temporarily patched, and we've left the rest to the Civil Engineers, they can start playing around now.

I'm pretty tired now, but so hammered up on adrenalin, I think I'll need a quadruple whisky before I hit the sack tonight ;-) Where's that bottle......?

OH NO did I mention SACK..... I NEVER want to see another SAND-SACK as long as I live!!!!

SWMBO said a couple of minutes ago, that we should go up to the coast on the first sunny day...... I said ok first of all, then realised that at the coast there is SAND !!!! .... NO WAY JOSEŽ.... I don't even want to see sand again.

We were going crazy there this afternoon, one of the firemen started building little sand castles everywhere, and he stuck little cocktail flags, which he has brought with him, on the top, and each castle was named after one of us. I got a wee Scottish flag on mine, so I defended it with my life..... well not really my life, but with a soggy baguette. That was a bit of fun during what was really relief after a close disaster, thankfully there was no-one in any real danger as we had caught the slide before it became too long... the total slide was about 70 - 80 metres of the dyke-crown.

Look at that I'm starting even to write gibberish... not only talk it.

Well anyway,

THANK YOU AGAIN EVERYBODY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS.

I'm not only at home in Hamburg, but also at DG :-X :-X :-X

Thank You

By the time I found this, you would have been sound asleep for an hour or so, I suppose. So good to come here and see that the ordeal is over. Pats on the backs of all you he-men for getting it fixed before it became a worse situation. I like the part with the little sand castles and flags, good comic relief. Welcome back, Barry.
