It was VERY unexpected, but I'm soooo happy, I think we got a least an inch this afternoon. It has not rained here since sometime in early june.
Yea!!!!!
We finally got a little rain!!!!
Congrats! I know how it feels to need it so badly, as we have been in drought conditions for several years. I am happy for you.
We got some rain Friday evening but only about 2/3 of an inch. Guess every little bit helps. Today it is so hot. It is 95 right now. Even the trees have their tongues hanging out.
Hey you guys, we haven't had only 1/3 of an inch of rain for 5 weeks of 90+. Today it hit 97, wild!! I'm ready for summer to be over!
Wonderful, BJT!! Yep, I'm not far from Aimee in this big ol' dry state of Texas. It's awful to watch the dust fly while your plants wilt. I love rain! Invigorating, life-giving water from the heavens! I'm so glad you finally got some!
Several storms passed through, although they didn't stay long enough to do any good. The ground is so hard, the water bounces off.
I was wrong we only got a 10th of an inch. Isn't funny tthat sometimes when you're not used to something it seems like alot more than it really is. More storms are expected today but it's also supposed to be the hottest day of the year, the weather man is saying high's near 100 in the shade and worse with the heat index. Our ground here is 99% clay and the rain yesterday just puddled on the ground because its so hard, but right before the storm hit I ran outside and started to water the plants so hopefully they got a little more water, new neighbors moved in next door over the weekend so I'm sure they must think I'm crazy, anyone else water in the rain???
Becky
we got some too .73 and more suppose to be here today. I dont want any of the strong storms they say are approaching!!!
*fingers crossed*
It's been real spotty rainwise here too (about an hour east of you Hibiscus and naturegal). We finally got a nice downpour Friday evening. Nothing since June though farther north at my Dad's farm. It will rain one of these days. Then we will probably get just what we asked for and then some! Looking forward to the cooler temperatures that are supposed to come overnight; lets hope it brings some rain for all of us!
We finally got rain today. It was a real toad-strangler (as I heard the Tennessee people say). It lasted all of an hour, I guess. I think it came down too fast and furious on the dry ground to do much good. We really need an all-day or all-night soaking rain.
