Dave, journal problem

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Would you please take a look at my home building journal and tell me if there's a way to put #10 after #9, rather than after #1? Thanks.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Joan, I'm not Dave, but I've gone to using "01", "02" etc. to number certain things, so that when I get to "10" and beyond, it keeps them in good order. Does that help?

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

I have that same problem on my home computer when I'm trying to organize pictures by numbers. I have to start out with "00001" or else it'll mess up down the road.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks, that does help. Now I gotta figure out a way to change the numbers, since they already have entries in them. I think I have to create a new number and move the entries right?

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

I think so. But that's not all that hard, thank goodness!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Could you fudge the dates of the entries you want to swap?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

No, I want to keep the dates of the entries, as they are important in this journal. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but I think I can create another catagory and copy the entries from the old to the new and then delete the old. I have lots of them to do, but I've been thinking about this and it's the only way I can figure out to do it. I might try one tonight, but it's already so late. Probably won't get a chance until tomorrow.

Back from vacation, huh? :) Have a good time?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Vacation? What's that? I don't seem to have that word registered in my mental dictionary. Words don't get registered in my mental dictionary unless I actually USE them :)

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Must have been the other Joan, LOL. ;)

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Ah yes! JoanMN is on vacation now that I think about it. Lucky lady!

Got it fixed, thanks for all the help.
