cutting garden favorites

Plymouth, MI(Zone 6a)

I am working on my cutting garden and wondered what some of your favorites are. I have daisies, scabiosa. cosmos, coneflowers. I want to make it white, purple, pink and maybe some pale yellow.

Tall garden phlox does quite well in arrangements and lasts a long time. I also like the fringed shasta daisy for some unusual white color. I grow a lot of zinnias in pinks, wine, and reds because they do well and last a few weeks also. I have good luck with malva and freesia. Well I tell ya, I just love them all for arrangements and don't forget some gypsophilia (I have pink and white). For yellow, sundrops last a while and are available a good part of the season and of course day lilies.
Well have I named them all yet LOL!

Queen Anne's lace is a nice white "filler" for an arrangement..no plant is easier to grow! Physostegia (obedient plant), peony and yarrow for pink. Lavendar, Veronica, Sages, for purple. Snapdragons come in lots of colors.

I have great luck with dahlias
(lasting a long time as cut flowers)...
Love 'em! :-)

I like the old favorite Zinna's; they come in all colors and keep blooming all summer.
The newer varieties are mildew resistant also.

I like the old standby, roses. The lily is nice for great fragrance too and daffodils, tulips, frittelarias (spelling) and some of the other spring bulbs are great for the early spring bouquet. Also lily of the valley for a later spring bouquet is nice and fragrant. Hosta leaves are wonderful for filler and color.
