Are photos still being scaled down?

Hey, Dave -- hczone6's photo posted at http://davesgarden.com/showthread/295906.html is HUGE, over a megabyte in size. I thought photos were automatically scaled down when posted, with the exception of journal uploads. Is this supposed to be the case still? The dimensions of the file aren't that huge, but it must not be compressed much, or the dpi might be higher than 72dpi.

GW: The image you refer to -is- scaled down. It's only 145K.

I scale down all images to a reasonable level prior to publishing in the forums.

It is? Guess I slipped a decimal in there somewhere! It just took so long to scan down on the screen, something that doesn't usually happen with our connection. Whoops!
