SoCals new grandbaby!!!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Why hello everyone, I can see from the other post regarding my pregnant daughter, that you have been waiting for me......well, here he is, Dylan Burns Medeiros. He was finally born on July 11th at 7:33pm, weighing in at 7 lbs 8 oz, 20 in long. He has a full head of dark brown hair, but can't see any color in the eyes yet. She was in labor for 22 hrs and we were in her room for most of it, we missed the first hard hours of labor. I actually helped her with her pushing and got to see the whole birth, wow, was it a great experience!! It's been a full couple of days around here and my DH and I are still catching up on the lost sleep. This is the first time I have been on DG for several days, sorry I kept you all waiting. I still can't believe that I am a grandma....Dori, you are going to love that grandbaby when it's born.

And here he is.........

Thank you all for your congrats..yes Kit, I am feeling great about this little fellow, but I'm still so tired. I guess it takes a lot out of us grannys now. I talked to DD today when they came home, and everyone is doing fine. Dylan was Circumcized this morning, ouch. My DD has 2 ShiTzus that are her babies also, and boy did they go crazy when they smelled this new addition to their home. I hope they all adjust to each other.
I am going over there again tomorrow, per their request...today I left them alone.

"Sugar and Spice and all things nice - that's what little girls are made of. Slugs and snails and puppy dog's tails - that's what little boys are made of". Now who in the heck made up this little ditty about babies? An English thing of course and we all know that some rhymes had their origins steeped in some real events. But this one surely is just another silly ditty that I knew as a child!! Whatever - they got it wrong!! Boys are just as sweet and adorable and I can attest to that. Congratulations Donna on your first grandbaby. He's precious!! Poor mum looks a little tired, but HAPPY!!!! God bless them both!!

I know your tired, but I am so happy for all...God Bless.

At last! And what a great looking little guy for your first grand! Your daughter looks wonderful for someone who just went through 22 hours of labor. At that stage, I was still zonked. Oh, the good times are begun, and it just gets better all the time. There is absolutely nothing to compare with the smell and feel of a tiny new baby in your arms.

Oh what a delightful bundle of Joy
A precious and beautiful baby Boy!
And whether his eyes turn green blue or brown
They will see the love of adults looking down
and know that his world is filled with a family
That will love him for all eternity!
