Awards

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Is there an annual award list? For an example - I'd like to nominate MaVie for being the most helpful and having every single gardening link on the internet. Time after time, she points and I follow. I learn something everytime. Thank you!
Other categories? Awards?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'd vote for that. She is one of the most helpful people I've ever met and if MVR isn't on line, Cala will be there to help with anything I need. I know there are others out there that are just as informed, it just happens that these two great gals frequent the forums that I visit the most. Three cheers for all of you who have helped the rest of us so much.

So can we have awards/nominations/categories? Hunh. Dave?? I guess that should be in reverse order.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, what a great thought! An awards thread! Yes, MVR is so helpful, and she does it so fast. I never can understand how she knows more about the Texas sites, UT and A&M, than I do, and how she has time to go there often enough to know where in the US or world is the best place for all the many plant questions. But she does it, and with such a nice manner, too. For posting info, I would have to nominate Baa, but would be torn between her and Cala. Oh, how can I ever choose between all the talent here? Forget it, they are all heroes!

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

There are no second thoughts about some of the names and facts mentioned above and seldom they fail to guide us with very useful links through which we learn so many newer things. MVR is high at the top.

I guess it's getting to be about that time, isn't it? Last year we held our DG Awards, 2001.

We had voting and everything. You can see the categories at the link above. We should do it again, probably next month.

Am I correct in determining that this Award Session was done prior to April, 2001? I don't remember it, but then I didn't join until June, 2001.

eyes, as best I recall it was in February/March 2001. Definitely time to do it again :)

Yep, but it's gonna be soooooooo hard trying to decide on who is the best at what. I've learned so much and enjoyed so much of sooooooooo many contributors.......just might blow a fuse, trying to decide.

Oh my! It is going to be a tougher vote this year! So many wonderful and healpful people. Why just voting for a favorite forum will be a challange! At least Favorite Web site is still an easy choice! DG is it hands down!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

You have to add a category for best sense of humor: Wintermoor! or Azalea! or ... Wonder_down_under ... or ... too many to count!

BTW, yes, August is definitely a slow time outdoors, so a good time to do some major thinking as we sit and watch our weeds grow!
