Contest pictures are massive

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I posted a few pics on the Morning Glory contest, and when I went back to view the pics and clicked on them to see the enlarged view of them....they were HUGH!! But, the exact same pics that I posted, I posted in the forums also and they don't appear too big when I enlarge them there. I didn't mess with the size of the pics at all. What should I do to correct this? Or can I?
TIA
Mollybee

Mollybee,

In the photos forum, I automatically resize massive pictures down for the sake of our dialuppers (and my bandwidth bill on the server!) :)

In most other areas, however, I leave the image size alone in order to preserve the artistic intentions of the person who uploads the image.

that counts for the tradelists, journals, contests, and others.

So, really, no matter where you are posting, you should probably bring your image into a image editor and resize it down to about 640 pixels wide before uploading it. That's the rule of thumb I usually go by.

Hope that helps!

LOL Am I loosing my mind here?!!! Did you change the title of this post?? I could have sworn that I typed something totally different... ok well none the less you have answered my question, now if I can just fix it I'll be ok.

Molly, you aren't losin' it - Dave probably changed the title. He does that for threads that he's been asked to answer or provide help on - I think it helps him keep track of them.

(And a good tip is to name your thread something that briefly describes the problem or question :)

LOL Thanks Go_Vols, I will remember that!

Yep, Vols hit it right on the nose. I change thread names in this DG Forum all the time. Usually they are something like "Dave... question" or something. I don't want a forum full of subjects like that - I'll never keep track of them.

It's also fun to see peoples' reaction to the change in the title of their thread. :)

You sneaky little thing you! I do understand though, and will remember next time.
