Identification Forum photos

Hi Dave, just wondered whether you might be able to weave the same magic in the ID Forum that you have in Photo Forum and PDB?
It would be brilliant to see the photos of plants that people would like ID'd without having to open each thread.
I'm totally ignorant of the amount of work involved in doing this, and whether it would unbalance the site as a whole, so please ignore if it's too much.
Really appreciate all the great features you have been putting into the site.

To tell you the truth Philomel, I was just thinking the same thing directly after Dave set up that forum.

I am also completely ignorant of whatever it takes to make these changes, but I would love to see it on a couple of fora.

Pray, tell us Dave... are we asking, or wishing, too much.

Whatever the answer, this site is becoming the only place on the net to find anything about anything which has to do with plants growing out of the dirt.

One of the things that I considered when doing this was that I only wanted to do it in forums where every single thread had a picture attached. This way, the picture-threads would not be overly competitive with the non-picture threads. That was a very important design decision that I made.

However, I didn't consider the Identification forum as a pure photo forum, but that was a mistake. Of course it is! All threads in that forum have pictures.

So, thanks to your bringing this up, the ID forum now shows the thumbnails in the threads view. This is very cool! :)

Hmm, well, I should probably do this for the Roundup Pictures forum, then, in order to be consistent.

Now there are 4 forums being treated this way:

PDB Pictures
Photos
Identification
Roundup Pictures

I think that covers all the pure photos forums. If I forgot any, lemme know! :)

Yes, you're welcome. This is very very cool. I should have done it long long ago! :-) It's probably one of the coolest enhancements I've done in quite some time.

Wow, Dave, if this is what Roundup and Fourth of July gets you to do, what can we expect for Christmas?! So many improvements in one day, my head is spinning.

I am impressed with the way they now look! Much easier to get around and see if it is worth my time to look closer! Way to go!
