Fellow Marylanders Enjoying the Heat?

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

This is the worst heat I can remember. Maybe just because I am getting older, but it is so stifling. Just a few moments outside and I feel whooped. Can't do much gardening in this heat! Hope it breaks soon, but the forecast isn't cooperating.

Surry, VA(Zone 7b)

Although I don't live in MD, the heat and humidity is making us miserable down here in Virginia too. If I was only going by the temps I'd say the calendar is trying to fool me - seems like August here.

Oh yes I have heard you folks are having it bad also. I also think the pollution is adding to it. I took a pic of the moon that I posted a week or so ago and it was bright red and the weatherman said it was the heat and pollution.

Harford County, MD(Zone 6b)

I agree with you haighr..today it really was terrible.Tomorrow doesn't sound any better either.I went outside at 5:30 this morning and trimmed some bushes and even then it was warm.During this heat spell,I'll try to do my outside work before the sun gets gets up.Besides,I like being outside in the morning.Everything is peaceful and quiet.

Elizabethton (Stoney, TN(Zone 6b)

hot and humid here in east tennessee. have to say that gardening is not nearly as much fun as normal this year. too hot, not enough rain .....

Don't know how you even do it in the morn ginlyn, I get to water a few potted things before I go to work (my poor zinnias and begonias) and they are all droopy again when I get home. About all we seem to be getting done is switching soaker hoses from one bed to another! We are going to the bay for the 4th as our son and "daughter in law" are coming from CT, hope it is a bit cooler there!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

We've been hit with the heat too. Seems like we jumped from the 50's right into the 90's. Supposed to be in the 90's for the next few days. It's so humid and it's really taking a toll on this old body that hasn't adjusted from the cold weather yet.

Crossville, TN

Now, ya'll, this old Arizona "but it's a dry heat" gal is heading your way with Calalily...see if you can't get it down to a comfy level before then!! Jo

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Going back to the 70's this weekend Jo. Hope it stays that way.

Iola, WI

Relief is on the way!
We spent about a week with that high humidity and I'm glad it's gone. No AC here :( Last night I even closed the window next to the computer, it was too cold!
Hang in there!
