Browse by Canadian provinces, shows all the provinces where we have members, and you can click through to see those members. Did you know we have 3 members in Saskatchewan, 'eh? :)

Also, Browse by Country. Currently there are 43 countries listed (not counting North America), and this is just a small sampling of how many internationals we truly have. As more members update their preferences with their location, we'll certainly grow this list.

I think this pretty much completes the memberlist features. Have fun! :)

Ahhhh I see that only one member (Baa, whoever she is) lives in Great Britain while the rest of my fellow country men have chosen United Kingdom. Typical odd man out Baa!

Also, N Ireland seems to have become detached from the UK. Not wishing to start a political storm but.........??

It's OK I'm a midlander, I'm used to being the odd man out LOL.

I think the whole UK, GB, NI, Scotland, Wales and England is confusing to a lot of people outside our isles (not assuming this is the case here). I've had several debates about it with various people and what with the whole devolved governments having more power etc it gets more confusing to a non UK reader.

Regarding the confusion of UK vs. GB vs. Ireland and so forth, it's terribly confusing for us. You might recall a thread about it sometime ago in the UK forum (now the int'l forum). Despite my focused concentration, I'm still not sure that I understand it completely.

It seems that there really is no simple explanation to it all, that could be summed up in 25 words of less.

Think of us as a tiny continent;

UK is The United Kingdom of Great Britian and Northern Ireland. This is a political rather than geographical union.

Geographically, the Great British Isles includes the GB Mainland and all the separate islands, of which there are many. Mainland GB consists of England, Wales and Scotland.

NI is attached to mainland Ireland which is not an island of GB, nor has ever been.

When GB is used it is excluding the country of NI but including the other British Isles.

Confusion reigns because we all come under one parliement but have our own devolved governments (apart from England) within it. Even some of the smaller islands have their own governments. We are all fiercely independant and proud of our separate countries. We've existed like this for a good many years, centuries in some cases. The UK must be one of the few places where divided and united we stand occurs to a good degree of success LOL.

Thanks, that's a better description than I've ever been given before. I'll save this information off for future reference.

Of course, when Mark gets logged back in, he's going to be irked that I set him up for Ireland. But... NI is not in my database of countries. I guess I could add it in.

Question: Did I read you correctly that North Ireland is, in fact, a part of the UK? (I know it's not part of GB).
