for my uncle james

Brooklet, GA(Zone 8a)

as many of you know i recently went and brought my uncle to live with me. he collects stamps as a hobby, his only hobby besides growing a few flowers each summer. now he will be able to have all the room he wants to plant things. i thought about all the letters and packages we get from each other and was wondering if some of you would send him some of your unusual postmarked stamps for his collection. james is not retarded but is mentally handicapped and he enjoys this hobbie so much. i will gladly send postage for them. just email and tell me where and how much. i really appreciate any stamps that you all can send him. he has been overwhelmed lately that so many are donating things to him for his camper. we have not got the supplies yet but they are suppose to be on the way and my cousin in texas, my aunt margarets daughter, is sending funds to help with glasses and dentures. so he is settling in nicely and we are getting along great. i kinda got off the subject didn't i oh well thats me.lol.lol. thanks again in advance.

For quite a long time, I have saved stamps for grandkids, none of whom have taken to it as yet. I am still saving them, and still collecting them, and at present I call it Granddarling's collection. I always save several of each kind, so she will have extras to use for trade if she is ever interested enough. It will take me a little time to get in the right frame of mind, but I will go through them and pull out some for Uncle James. He will probably get lots of duplicates, but can always save them to trade for some he might not have. I think this is just a grand thing for him to have you, and for you to be so creative in keeping him happy and occupied.

Janet I have just seen your post. I usually have most of my mail arrive from England at Christmas time and so I will send the stamps when I have accumulated a few. The last time I sent them to Carla's DD and I'm sure she won't mind me switching this coming holiday. Will you please remind me as Christmas is a few month's away and I have a memory problem!! :-)

Janet, quite a few years ago I bought a stamp collecting kit for each of my girls, but they had no interest. I know they are somewhere in storage and have lots of stamps and if I can ever find them, I'll send them on. I don't know how unusual or valuable they are, but might be something your uncle would be interested in looking through. I probably won't find them until this winter sometime, because we are in such a mess right now, but when I do find them, I'll send them to you.

Brooklet, GA(Zone 8a)

joan, i know what you mean about a mess. right now my living room is a storage room and we have a path to get to the kitchen. once my uncle is in his camper then i am going thru everything and turn my old storage room, where he is now, into a new sewing room for myself. by then i should have my sewing machine fixed, i hope. it is an oldie but a goodie. i won't say anything about this until you find them and then we can surprise him. he really doesn't care about value he just love to work with them.

anyone have extra stamps we can get for him. i will gladly pay postage or trade seeds for them.

Margaret,

You are so sweet to even think of us. :) Of course, we do not mind if "our" Uncle James receives the stamps you get this year. What a treat for him. Actually, I went through a bunch of stamps I had doubles of a few weeks ago and sent him some myself.

Janet,

The package went out today. There is even a picture inside that Bethany colored. :)

Janet,

I hope you enjoy the book. It's for whoever wants to read it. God will see to it that it is read by who needs it.

I'm glad your uncle was happy with the package. I enjoyed putting it together.
