Can tobacco be grown that far north? Here in the south, tobacco patches are a common sight, in fact the value of property is increased if it is designated as "tobacco base". But (not having grown any), I always figured it's a "warm climate" crop. At any rate, if you don't find any available from members, here are a few sources:

I had the same idea since tobacco prices keep going up. I have now decided not to enable DH anymore. He has tried quitting several times and I try to encourage him when he makes an effort to stop. He switches to those nasty little cigarillos ugh!

I really hate to see people who smoking "so sad" later on will die bad for health Cancer. I am so glad my mother used to smoke many year at least about 15 years finally stop quit for good and have not smoke for 35 years now. I told my mother smoking is not worthy > the health more important worthy and live longer. That how my mother hear me many time finally QUIT! We need her than die for nothing short live.

Redrose,
I know it's bad, but it is a habit that is not easy to stop... I have made a suggestion to DH that we should quit when we move to the new house....
But I find we should bouth stop at the same time, otherwise it would be impossible to work.

pretty soon if the prize is going up more I can't afford it no more... But you see, I don't want to stop because I can't affort it no more... we should stop because we want to WILLPOWER!!! thats what is still missing... and without that it's not going to work.

Zameluzza, I know how you feel! Kenny and I both smoke and wish we could stop. Soon I hope we have a couple months of no big stresses ~ then we can quit much easier I hope. But it's almost impossible when one partner is ready and the other isn't. Either way, it IS hard! I applaud you for atleast trying to find a less-toxic alternative. Atleast home-grown cigarettes won't have the extra additives.

I used to work with a man in the VFD&EMS who was a former cocaine addict and current smoker. He said kicking the coke habit was a breeze compared to cigarettes ~ now that's scary!

Wingnut,
thanks...... Here it's the same thing stress all the time. and now the weather is so crazy that we have to make haylage and hay in between rains. plus the home!!!!!! we did not work on it since weeks. makes me wonder if it's gonna be finished for christmas :-(

I don't want to spend another winter in this house.

DD started summer vacation today, and she already nags about the small easy set pool, that I have to fix and find a leeak before putting it up.

so with that much to do honestly I almost have ne time for a smoke *LOL* ( I can't work and smoke together like DH can )

wow your former coworker quit cocaine wow thats so great....

So I'm still trying to find some seeds, if it's to cold here to grow them maby DH will build me a bigger Greenhouse *LOL*
