Oregon coast pictures

Zone 6, OH(Zone 6a)

Just got back from my business trip to Oregon. I drove over to the coast to look around on the weekend. It was a little too cold for me :( I got some interesting pictures of the coast while I was there. It was pretty nice to see.

Oh I love to go out there to sit down on grass or go up top Lighthouse to watch everywhere to see how beautiful is. This picture come out good, thank for sharing with us.

Did you enjoy your time here? the coast is always colder then inland. but not much, 10 degrees. we are having some warm weather here, it's 70 degrees here this morning, but supposed to get in the 80's.......

Yeah, it was an interesting trip. I liked the wetlands on the way to the coast.

hc, which lighthouse is that? I bought a t-shirt for DH that has all the Oregon lighthouses on it. When my sisters and I were there, we saw the Cape Meares lighthouse. Isn't Oregon a beautiful place?

I'm not sure which one this is. It was right up the road a few miles from Florence. I've seen several places in OR that's really pretty.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Gorgeous setting, I'll bet you really enjoyed yourself. Did you do any "cliff diving"?

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

Next time you visit Oregon go south and down into the Willamette Valley, it is the leading nursery stock producer in the US, there is so much variety here and you could take home some treasures. There are commercial iris growers, tulip producers, rhodies, azaleas, dahlias, you name it and we probably could find it. When I travel (not too often, really) it is great to come home with some treasure for the garden and remember that that plant came from where I had been.

No cliff diving ;) I think that would be a little dangerous in this area...lol

I would have liked to bring home some plants, but I wasn't prepared to bring anything back on a business trip.

San Diego, CA(Zone 11)

This lighthouse is called Heceta Head Lighthouse. I grew up nine miles south of it. While it does seem cold there, the weather is very mild. The lowest temps in winter rarely go below 28f. And there are some old palms grown.

Gulfport, MS

on one visit to Oregon we stopped at the place where the photographer here was and there was a wedding party having pictures taken with this lighthouse in the background. what an opportunity

I used to live in Portland, and absolutely adore Oregon. Spent a lot of time in Florence, Oregon. If it wasn't 3000 miles away from my roots I'd be there still. Gorgeous state, great place to garden. Best weather. Not nearly as rainy as people make it sound.

We're moving out to Oregon next year. That is Heceta Head, about a half mile from my folks house on Hwy 101 in Florence, or just North of it. Neat to see the photo on here! Looks gloomy, as usual LOL!

Pradamary, we are sure having a long long long wet spring this year. Sometimes it seems forever. Our winter was quite dry and drought was all we were hearing on the news but March came and we have been under wet now for a long time. An isolated beautiful day now and then does go a long way to lift one's spirits.

Lenjo, we are having a long, long wet spring in Boston, too! It was a very cold and bitter winter with lots of snow and now continues to rain and temps in the 50's.....I have lived in Key West, LA, Boston and Portland and Portland was my favorite. BUT Boston is home....I'm planning a trip to Oregon in October....Haven't been there since I left ten years ago.... Mary

Portland is the big city for this country bumpkin from the farm. I rarely get there but enjoy it when I do. October can be really beautiful here as you well remember. That is usually the time of year when we get away too.
