Highlighting

Needham, MA(Zone 6a)

In my daily newsletter, what do the black, yellow, etc. highlights mean?

Where are you seeing these highlights? I'm not seeing them.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I saw it on the Hosta forum today, it was highlighted yellow and the plant trading forum is higlighted in black. I have noticed this before too. (not necessarily these particula forums though)

Me, too. It's not just the words that are highlighted, but the entire rectangular box the words are in and the box next to i giving the number of posts. The Plant Trading one has the number of posts box highlighted so that you can't see the text in it. Would you like me to forward this to you, Dave? I don't have your e-mail address, but if you send it to me I'll forward that right away.

I read the newsletter through the Extras every day, so...

please go take a look at the extras newsletter copy, and see if it differs. If it does differ, someone forward me a copy of it to dave@davesgarden.com.

Dave, it's an ongoing problem with those of us using Outlook/Outlook Express I think. I see them occasionally, too.

The thing is... it looks perfect to me. I've never seen this kind of error with my mail client. So, as vols says, there must be something going on with Outlook.

Sheesh the world would be better off without Outlook. I digress.

I don't know why Outlook corrupts the newsletter this way. From studying the mails that members (plural) :) sent me, they all corrupted in exactly the same place, where the HTML code sets the color for the background cell of the table. I can not understand why it's doing this.

Anybody here not using outlook but seeing the same stuff? Is this truly an outlook problem? If yes, I'm tempted to just leave it alone and wait for MS to fix the bug, or wait till the members move to a new mailer.

Dave, It has never bothered me, I dont think it is anything that you should spend any time on, it is just a minor cosmetic thing I guess...

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I saw it more when I used Pegasus, but have it forwarded temporarily to my box at yahoo and still see it. perhaps it's my server? it doesn't bother me at all the way it is.

So what if we all alerted MS to the problem? Would it help speed along the bug-fixing process?

I am glad to see this thread, as I wondered why that happened. I use Netscape Messenger. I agree, if it's a big headache to fix it, don't worry about it. I just ignore it and go to the site anyway.

It doesn't interfere with the newsletter in any way. It's just a little more colorful. :) Doesn't bother me at all.

Salem, OR(Zone 8a)

NO BIGGY to me at least. Like snowhermit said, just more colorful! sometimes the photos don't show up on some of the entries, either, and it is usually where that "colored cell" is, or next to it. Weird. Blame Gates!! ;)

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

No biggie to me, either!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Dave - I use outlook and did not see any highlighting!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

No highlighting today! you must have fixed it Dave...

It's not just an outlook problem, I get it here too on AOL and today's newsletter has a blacked out space. It's never worried me before I though it was just one of those things.
