Sending you a photo of my echium that I've lovingly cherished over the last three years, this year it rewarded me with this fantastic spike, and I'm so over the moon with it. I 'd put it on the European forum, but one of them said you'd like to see it, see we Brits can do some things BIG,(now you'll tell me that you can grow them twice that size :-) )The flags are there for our Jubilee celebrations,( and the footie! )I hear you've not done too bad either in Japan, not that I follow footie, but hubby keeps me up to speed, in fact he keeps telling me that I'm the only person in England who doesn't watch it !!got better things to do with my time.

Oh, my God! That IS ENORMOUS! What kind of echium is that? Do you know the latin name? I must get some and see if I can grow it. Amazing!

It Echium pininana, from the canaries apparently,it should set a load of seeds ,so if you want some, I'll save some for you, just let me know. They grow like weeds in a garden that I'd love to visit, Tresco on the Scilly Isles, there they have to fell them like trees !!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Whoa! Texas can't boast of that, I think. It would probably roast here and look like a giant corn on the cob. Wingnut, you try and if it grows for you, I will bum seeds. What a great piece of live garden art!

Well, Sue, aren't you just the nice one! You are so kind to offer me some seeds!!! You have mail!

I consider everything hardy until I've killed it myself, so if it works, Aimee, I'll put you at the top of my list to send seeds! How cool!!!!! Oh, I hope it likes living in Texas!

Linda goes off to finish the dishes while doing the happy-happy-joy-joy dance!!!
