Originally neither Trish nor I were planning to attend, however, this morning I decided that I would alone go and meet everyone on Saturday. So... see you then! I'll bring a steak knife so you can cut up my steak for me. heheheh. :)

You got it. :) They are lavendar to white mixes who are finished blooming for the year. They are seedlings that I germinated in January, and are about 18" tall. A perfect size for the car ride home.

I wish I did, Azalea. They are all in the ground - volunteers from last year, actually. And quite large. I may be able to bring seed, however, and these guys are like poppies with their seed production and germination rates.

Ya know, pretty soon he'll have to make a "convention circuit" to all the DG get-togethers. At least the DG groups won't have too many folks hanging out in full Klingon regalia or carrying light sabres, LOL.

I tell ya what. If anyone cut MY husbands steak, it will be ME and Me alone.
Look out ladies,or you will have someone hanging all over your man; or maybe she will just go around and cut everyone's steak for them and pour everyone's tea as well.

This is one thing that I wouldn't even consider doing,is making a big deal over another woman's man. I have more class than that. I think alot of my own husband to even consider drooling over another woman's husband.

Probably a good thing that I'm not going to the Texas Round-Up if 'eyes' is doing things for other husbands.

Trish,I just can't imagine how you must have felt when you read 'eyes' thread. Some people just don't take into consideration other people's feelings and how it may effect that person. ((((hugs to you my dear)))).

From Eyes? Hidden Meaning? I wouldn't think she gave it a minute's thought, except as a way to make sure Dave knew he was an honored guest. I would give a nickel to see the look on her face if he actually took her up on it and just sat there and waited for her to start carving. It could have been rich comedy. Funnier, still, if others then asked to be equally honored. Poor Eyes, she would be so busy carving and pouring, she would never get a bite.

(giggle) when I read it, I thought eyes was offering to cut up Dave AND Trish's steaks, if that would induce them to attend...

Yeah, Terry, that's what I saw ~ right up there in her original post ~ "you and Trish". Later the tea got mentioned, but I don't think "pouring tea" has any kind of "dishonorable" connotations or else I would have had a LOT of men following me home when I was a waitress.

You know,everyone has their own opinion on things and I'm not going to apologize for voicing my opinion.
As for the word'kidding', I used that very lightly. There was other words that I could have used,but kept it clean.
Eyes opened this book and I just added another chapter to it is all,just like everyone else did.
I would think that 'eyes' needs to think about her own family and cutting up her own husband's steak instead of worry about someone else's husband is all.
Not once did I read from eyes 'gee,sorry Trish that you can't come,going miss seeing you and the rest of the family' OR ' would love to see you,hope you reconsider and decide on coming.'
I have mentioned this before,Trish just does not get the recognition alot of the times that she so deserves and I feel for her.If I where Trish, and I read this thread from 'eyes',I think I would be furious after reading the thread and knowing that someone else will be waiting on my husband hand and foot the way it was stated from her.Look at the title of the thread 'sooooooo Dave,; Not Dave AND Trish. Granted,Trish's name is mentioned in her very first post,but then that's it.
Now,put yourself in Trish's shoes for a minute, and how would you feel if you read where someone stated that they was going to be waiting on your husband hand and foot. I'm just thinking of Trish's feelings in all this. Something that 'eyes' never thought about when she made her statements; is someone else's feelings.

I do believe that it is 'eyes' that needs to make the apology to Trish.

Okay,I voiced my opinion and it will be my last post on this thread. Remember, people read into things differently and everyone has their own point of view on things and this is my point of view on this and I have the right just like everyone else here to voice my opinion.

First of all, I applaud you, CoCo, for thinking of Trish's feelings. I really do.

BUT, the worst flame wars I've seen were started by well-intentioned people stepping in to "save" someone else from some imagined slight. Misunderstandings cause a LOT of problems.

Many times, not just once in awhile, I receive email about something I have posted that was taken differently from the way I intended it. It's easier to explain it privately than dealing with it in a public forum. I always feel grateful that the person mailing me a comment kept it private. Like most of the responders here, I took the comments by "eyes" to be light hearted and harmless, and assumed the subjects did, as well. If a relationship is shaky, this kind of banter is dangerous, but I have read nothing to indicate this is a shaky relationship, so it would never occur to me that it caused anyone a second of concern. I seriously doubt that someone with an ulterior motive or hidden agenda would post it so prominently. Once on a chat site, I remarked that I just loved a strong man, and he replied "so does my bf", and I think all present had a good laugh at my expense. Was his BF feeling threatened? I think not!

Are ya kiddin' me...........Dave could be my son!! And yes, all was meant in jest! Trish, if I have offended you in any way, I apologize..............but not because someone told me too. We even discussed this in chat the nite before I left. So never fear....Dave is ever true, to you!!

It blew me away that Eyes' thread would be taken and twisted like this. Holy cow. It would have been far better addressed in private, too. You know -- go to the brother in private...then with others...THEN publically address the problem (if there is one)?
