eagle web cam 6/10

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

The babies are sleeping soundly right now, and so close to the edge. I wish momma would hurry back.

they are just right at the edge....

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I've been noticing that, too, and they do seem to flounce around dangerously. But I suspect if one fell out, the people who put the webcam up would immediately rescue it. That's probably the real purpose of the cam, to protect the young birds.

Been watching the eagles for quite awhile, and it appears Mama Bird is getting some well earned rest. Both little ones have also been quite subdued.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

babies are more active today :)

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Did anyone ever find out how long they stay in the nest? I was going to see if I could find out, but never did do it.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

On the other web cam, the birds are pretty old, like 2 months or so.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

I visited the additional link Pebble gave us & really looked around that site. It looks like they will be hanging around until mid-august, but I don't know when they actually start to fly. But, from what I could tell from years past, it looks like even when they learn to fly, they still return to the nest for some loving care :)

Here's a link to previous years & a COOL video clip --> http://home.gci.net/~bluffcam/bestof.htm

Yippee! Then we have our entertainment for the summer all planned out. The babies are older than I thought they were. I thought they were only a week or so old, but it looks like they must have hatched on the 21st. That would make them 3 weeks old already.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Yeah, our summer entertainment will be watching these little guys.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I think they hatched on the 18th of may, on that one site, it shows them hatching and it's dated the 18th.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I stand corrected, the picture I was looking at was on their forum and not necessarily of this year, as I looked at the pics of this year, I see where they hatched on the 21st.

the sure are cuties....

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

That is so cool!

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi Smiln ~ RoadRunner posted this for us originally. That thread got a wee bit too long until Pebble started this new one for us :)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

one of the babies is teetering on the edge, and being top heavy, it just wouldnt surprise me if the topples over!
where is that mama???

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I wish mama would build up the sides a bit. Those babies do so much flopping around, and they insist on sleeping on the edge for some reason.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I think they use the lip as a pillow - lol

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Okay, I couldn't help this one. DISCLAIMER: only open this if you're not shy about potty talk...

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

The video is fabulous and love checking the cam. Momma was just back in the nest looking around.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Didn't want to offend anyone... It's just fun to watch how they interact with each other & try to figure out what they're thinking. That's what came to my mind. This family is just a trip to watch ~ I'm so glad RoadRunner posted this for us!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Yes, I too am glad Road runner posted this for us, I bet she didnt think that it would be such a hit....
thanks roadrunner :)

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I'm glad Roadrunner posted this too. I'm going to be sad when they fly away.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

OOH - me too Joan.....
although, I have been copying their pictures and saving them, I can always go back and look at them, course, it wont be the same - will it???
One of the babies was sooo close to the edge, I thought he'd topple over.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Last night as I was getting ready to shut down my computer at home, i thought I'd check in with the babies, it was about 10:30 PST and it was complete daylight for the babies, I had fogotten that Alaska has 20 hour days, and even the nights dont get very dark.
great growing season huh???

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Hey, Jo, if you're passing through, I'd like to meet you! Where/when are you planning on visiting your Ohio friends? I'm not far from Badseed & we've always an extra bed if needed. That is if you don't mind my temporary yet, massive clutter!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I have been watching the nest off and on through the night, and it appears there is something wrong with it, keeping it from updating.

Crossville, TN

Morp....Thanks for the offer...and "Clutter" is my middle name...well...sorta...Betty Jo Clutter.....We'll surely keep that in mind...what say, Calalily? She is the driver, but I have the maps!! LOL Jo
