I just got back from installing our new server. Dave's Garden is now being served by a brand new computer. The old server's name (smoky) is hereby retired. The new server is called "Iceberg", since that's what is doing so well in my garden right now.

Here are the specs, for those interested:

CPU: AMD Thunderbird 900Mhz
Memory: 512MG (Yes, that's half a gig)
Disk: 44G IBM 10,000 RPM IDE w/1916kB Cache

Operating System: Red Hat Linux 6.2
Web server: Apache 1.3.19
Programming language: PHP/4.0.4 patchlevel 1

This server should perform about 25 times faster than the previous one.

Thanks Alan for asking those two ?'s. I was just about to ask myself. The member counter would have been missed, but I think I'd have withdrawls from not having a chat room! :o)

Memories...Found this while searching for Thunderbird on DG. What are the current server's specs? It'll be fun to see the difference!
