I just thought I'd share my funny Post office story with you guys. Remember how amazed I was that everyone received their boxes on Monday, after I had mailed on Saturday????did anyone notice anything different on those boxes????
The other day I had a trade that needed to go out, so I went into the supply room at the office where I have been storing all my boxes from the post office, and I actually ordered a whole bunch that arent available at the P.O. well, so I grab a box and pack and off to the P.O. I went, and of course I'm pretty frindly with all the post office people, im there almost everyday, and we're a yip yappin, and he says, Oh, geez, you musta grabbed the wrong box Hon....and I said what do you mean? well, this is the express mail, it would cost you 19-20 bucks to mail this, then he proceeded to wrap the entire box (practically) with the priority tape. It took several minutes to do this, giving me time to reflect on the last time I came in with a bunch of boxes, and they were the same boxes, It was an honest mistake on my part, I didnt even realize that there were different boxes in the supply room. Well, I distinctly remember the saturday I took the clematises in, there was a parade getting ready at the end of the block, and the P.o. was deserted, and I thought I was so lucky, and then I got my favorite gal Lisa, she is originaly from new york, and she was yip yappin about the weather back there etc., and now when I think back on it....oh my GOD!!!!

Just thought that was kind of funny.....

I do feel bad though......

it's a wonder they didn't send them all back to you! sometimes it will get to the correct city and either make the receiver pay the extra or send it back. I didn't notice anything funny, I was so happy to get mine!!

Oh tig, that is a scary thought, they could have tried to collect the $$$ from the recipients....egads!!!!!

I didn't notice at all. I checked to make sure that the postage you had to pay was less than or equal to what I sent you so I would know if I needed to send you more for the postage, but I didn't notice anything else funny.

By the way, I checked the postage and we were okay there, but do I still owe you for the tax? Please let me know. I want to make sure I don't short you somehow.

Oh, Pebble - sometimes funny (as in haha AND strange) things do happen, huh? I didn't even notice either - I guess I was so excited to rip into my box (yeah, I do that at Christmas, too), I didn't pay one lick of attention to the box itself.

Didnt you all think it was funny that everyone got their box the next working day? I just attributed it to our efficient postal system, I sure would like someone to find one of the boxes and tell me it was a priority box instead of an express box, I would rest easier knowing I didnt cheat the postal service.....
(you know what I mean?)

Okay, great! I was thinking about the tax thingy, but that was on the siberian iris coop. I need to contact Poppysue about that and see if I need to send her more. I'm getting confused here. :)

My box has long since been thrown away, sorry. I'd check even if it was still in the dumpster, but it's been emptied too.

gotta tell you pebble, I kindof think it would stand out with all the packages i get. but you never know:)

Well, that's the thing, it looked exactly the same, but instead of priority mail, it said express mail....
Oh well......but you'd think of all those boxes that I sent out, someone would have kept the box. I keep my boxes, and re-use them, I have a little stockpile going, which irritates my husband to no end......

you aren't going to believe this, but I found my box this morning (I save most too) and it's a priority box.

oh - good, good, good....I was really worried there for a minute. and my faith is restored in the postal system, and I am thrilled that I am not a crook......
Because I'm sure it's a federal offense to use the wrong box....(with the wrong postage!)

Hi Pebble, I don't remember the box being any different. I have already re-used it, and it must have been a Priority mail box, since they didn't say anything at my post office when I sent it out.
