PDB comment missing?

I could have sworn that I typed a long comment on Runner Beans some time ago in the PDB, it seems to have disappeared without a trace.

How long ago? Was it before, or after we relaunched the site?

It was before the relaunch in the first couple of months of the year.

At the time of the launch, I copied over all "General Description" comments into the new PDB comment system.

The other stuff, including Cultivar names and such, I left behind. I couldn't find a good way to automate the transfer of this content into the new system.

Now, I have the old PDB database still online so that anyone can go and retrieve the stuff out of there and do whatever they wish, including copying their data out or whatever.

Take a look at this link: http://old.plantsdatabase.com/ That's the old PDB.

Now check this out: http://old.plantsdatabase.com/descbyuser.php?user=Baa That's a link to all your (Baa's) descriptions you had in the old PDB. They are ordered by type, and the vast majority of them are General Descriptions, which made it through just fine.

So take a look at this and let me know what you think. If there's a way to further automate any of the transfer of this data, I'm all ears to hear any ideas and suggestions.

tiG, I'm not sure what you are asking for. I'm trying to give you all the information that's being requested.

I think the question is: Some of the information did not make it from the old PDB to the new PDB. Hence, I have made the old database available for browsing.

So I don't know you want me to "tell you".

no, I meant that until now I didn't realize we could still get the info from the old one. now that I know, I can go check out what I can move. when you tell us things like this, we can help:) thanks!!!

Many thanks for the links. Unfortunately it seems my GD for Runner Bean didn't make it onto the PDB, perhaps my system crashed as I pressed send and I didn't check or something similar.

Anyway regardless of my ineptitude on checking my work, the old PDB link will be helpful to transfer some of the propagation and cultivars.
