Ferns...

I'm visiting at my parent's house right now and am enjoying many of the gorgeous ferns they have growing wild out in the woods (10 acres of gorgeous land). Some I don't ever remember seeing before and have a leaf that is the most unique I've ever seen before. Stunning. I absolutely love it, too.

I can't post a pic from here as they don't have the computer capability to upload from our camera. My question is: Are there any web sites that have good fern pictures so that I can try to ID this plant?

Thanks.

I've got a book _somewhere_. Got it 35 years ago at the MO. Botanical Gardens. It's moved with me all of these years and is an astounding field guide. I _just_can't_find_ it!!

I know it's here..I've had it since we built the house..but I'm at a loss as to where. I'll try and dig it out...it may be under the bed in the spare bedroom where all stuff that I can't seem to find a home for seems to wind up. I've got an entire set of encyclopedias from 1939 in perfect shape...just can't seem to know what to do with them..hehehe.

Melody,

Do you know the name of the book? We're actually going to be visiting the Missouri Botanical Gardens later this week. Maybe I could pick it up. :)

I wonder if I could just take the fern with me and have them ID it? :)

Carla, good luck! I tried to ID the "wood ferns" that grow wild on my property, and after looking through some websites and books, I gave up; I'm not a fern ID'er, obviously, LOL.)

I'm so glad to hear you're going to the Missouri Bot. Gardens - lucky you!!! Hope you have a great time!

sorry,my link didn't work.
