No Electric

(Zone 5a)

We haven't had electricity since Friday at 6:30 PM, we have lost a lot of our food and I have a big mess to clean up. Plus the only repsonse we've gotten from the electric company is nill until we called
channel 6, and they finally got someone out here to help us. I am told that it's only temporary and if we don't over load it then it should be ok until they can get a new transformer. Just two rows of homes were involed in this mess so I do hope eveyone will corperate, so if you don't hear from me in the next few days...this is why.I am going to take a much needed shower.

I have never in my life been with out electricity since I have had my own place. We had a storm Friday and I actually thought that it was going to hit our house so I started to pray and ask for forgiveness for all sins real or imanged...all of a sudden we had no electricity. Well I thought that it would be back on in a few, but to my surprise it wasn't which made me think about all the meat that I just bought. We lost 10lb of hamberger and 4 rib roast, 4 dozen eggs, 4lb bacon, 12 ears of corn, 3 packs of ribs,2 gallion of milk, and the cat milk I boutght for Babygirl because she was taken to soon from her mother. Now needless to say I tied one on last night...between my garden flooding and this, I just couldn't take any more!!!!! So I invited my family over for a drink and cook out, let me tell you, I was between sky and earth and wasn't touching dirt no where!!!

Wind, we were also without power from Fri. afternoon till Sat. It came on and off for a short while but not enough to keep the freezer cooled off. We also lost some of our meat that was on the top of shelves. The stuff that was piled underneath things I think will be ok.So sorry you lost so much.

Snowhermit I know how you feel, thank God for the old phones with wires, I called my niece and daughter, they helped us with dinner. We finally got a cooler larger enough to keep some of the food which hadn't spoiled. So we ended up with 1 dozen eggs, and some frozen whitting left. Now all I have to do is find the money for more food, and deal with all the flooding.
