going to be a granny

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

Im to young for this!!! My 23yr old son just told me Im going to be a granny in Nov.!!!
Im not sure Im ready for this!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh!!! you're ready, and it's the most fabulous thing in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will love it I promise. congrats to all of you, and before you know it, that little bundle will be all cuddled up in your arms, and you'll wonder how you ever got along without them.

Wapakoneta, OH(Zone 5b)

You will love being a granny. Once you hold them in your arms, you are hooked. We have only 1 grandchild, a girl, 4yrs old now and just love her to death. They live 10 hrs. away and we get down there as often as possible. I was able to stay with our daughter for 3 weeks after the baby was born. I took care of the house and it gave her, her hubby and baby the time to bond. But...they grow up all too fast.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bobbi

(Note: I was 54 before I became Grandma BB)

Congrats! And such a young granny you are! You'll love it!

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Yes, you'll love it! I'm only 33 and have three grandchildren close by ~ one year old, two years old and three years old. Kenny had grown children already when I met him and they soon started having babies of their own. I'm "Mawmaw" and I love it! I skipped the labor pains, diapers and teenage rebellion myself and went right to the good part! LOL!

Dori - it's better if you're young, then you can keep up with them! And, being a granny, you can take a nap when they go home - best of both worlds! I was 43, ancient in this family. Mom was 38 when I presented her with her first granddaughter and 61 when Julia made her a great-grandmama. It's just too much fun to have to wait for!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

What you talkin' about Kathleen??? I'm raising 3 of mine!!
What's a nap?????

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Prepare to adjust your thinking on all things, especially discipline, priorities, sacred territories, treasured items, off limits places, schedules, language, family traits, appearance of ancestors, favorite car seat, taste of veggies, sudden noises, pets inside or out, and I know that is only the merest tip of the iceberg. The first time that little baby reaches for you, says some version of your appointed title (you can't decide what they will call you, they do it), you will indeed know that you have waited and prepared all your life for this. It's our reward for not having strangled their parents.

Hey Dori, I only have 1 more month to wait to be a grandma too. This has been a fun ride, watching my DD being pregnant and being able to talk to my new "grandson" through her big belly. lol
I hope you enjoy the process too...at least it's not "US" that has to go through all the stuff again.
A big congrats to you and your son.

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

Dori
Congrats. I'm a grandpa to 2 beautiful grandaughters and I love it.
I spoil them rotten and then send them home :)
You can still be a young grandma and have a ball doing it; you have plenty of energy to keep up with them. The other morning me and my 5 year old grandaughter were at the ice cream parlor eating ice cream at 10 in the morning.

This PopO wouldn't trade it for anything.

Congrats again.
