The Wild Bunch Rides Again!!!

Well we're off on another adventure. Well, not right now, but later this year, like the last week in July. Jo/RR, Mystic and I are going to drive from Tennessee to Maine. TiG was going to come along but I think she chickened out, lol. (Guess she didn't want to end up holding a tray of flowers on her lap for a couple hundred miles.)
Jo and I were chatting the other night and wondered how many DG'ers were on our way. I think we're going to end up in Portland, ME. I know Poppysue is up there and we'll have to stop in and see her. Jody is in MD and we're going to try and swing by her place.

didn't chicken out, would give anything to go away! I hope you all have a wonderful time.

TiG, I know, I wish you were coming with us!! We will miss you.

Cala, there's a swap here in gainesville on 6/15. it's a hair less than an hour from I-10/I-75 intersection to here. several people with exotic plants....

Where/when are ya'll meeting up with Jo? I'm meeting her around Lewisburg,WV in mid-July. Maybe I could meet others too :~D

What Fun!!! And guess what...I have to go to Maine some time in July too, so maybe after you stop by here and get rested up I'll plan on going that week too(was thinking about 2nd-3rd week anyway). I'll have to go another 100 miles north of Portland though. I'm sure ya'll will have enough "adventure" north by then but you're welcome to go further, heheheh. Mom and Jac would LOVE to see you again Susie ;) LOL.

Well,well,well,you gals are certainly an adventurous bunch. I would love for you to visit me.I'm about 25 miles north of Baltimore...easy to get to from 95. Sister,sgtdot only lives a couple of miles from me,so we'd both get to visit with you.I have an extra double bed,a twin bed and an Areo inflatable bed.

Ruby, I can't believe that Cape May is only 150 miles from Baltimore. I thought it would be much farther. My DS was in basic training with the Coast Guard there. Jo

I'm about 3 hrs north of Epping.Wish I knew for sure when you'd be hitting Maine. DH has Fridays off and every other weekend and we usually head to York Beach or up the Maine coast.I'd love to meet Poppy too and we could kill two birds with one stone. :)

RR the coast guard base is 10 minutes from my house!!!! I sure hope you guy's are able to get near here and by the way I can read smoke signals!! I was a Girl Scout you know!!!!! hehe

The 26th is on a Friday. I figure the first day we won't get very far because I have to go thru KY first and get Mystic, then off to VA to pick up Jo. Don't know how far we will get, depends on how tired I am. Next stop is in MD to see Jody, Ruby and stay with Gin.Jody will have to keep me away from that big nursery because if we stop there first, I'll have the car full of plants and Jo might not want to hold a plant all the way to ME and back!!
Jo, what's the next stop on our itenerary(spelling?)? We aren't going to be rushing and would love to see the Maine coast. Jo, how soon do we have to be back? Mystic, how many days do you get off?

Cala, What day are you planning on heading out?

Do you meant the day we're heading home? We will have to have Mystic back at work Monday morning, so the latest we could stay would be Saturday (August3rd)

Susie....I think a lot depends on how long Mystic can take off...but I would say she will have the two week ends off. I'm just along for the ride...and to read the maps!! LOL

I'm going to make a notation on my map of where each one that "invits" us lives ...and we'll have to work out a route and time when we get that all together.

If there isn't enough "bed" space at ginlyns, I have a spare room here and a pull out couch. And ginlyn isn't all that far from me to get ya'll back together again if needed! :)

Don't worry Susie, if you go to homestead you can leave the plants here and either pick em up on the way home or I'll mail em to ya. Just don't get any real big ones, LOL.

DH has the 2nd,3rd and 4th off from work that week.Just have to meet ya'll. You will be so close. I'm about3-4 hrs NW of the ME coast depending on how far up you go.You could all stop here too. I'd have to get DH to give directions as there are a lot of back roads to travel to my house and I have a terrible sense of direction. If your time is limited I could meet you all in Maine as we usually travel up there anyway on his days off. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't move there someday.Either way we WILL get together. Sure do wish tiG could make the trip too.

Well folks don't look I will be making this trip I sure wanted to. I told Jo I didn't think I could get off from work and I was right so hopefully the next trip maybe I can go. I am sure going to miss getting to meet everybody. But the good point to this is that will leave more room for Cala to bring back plants. lol (heartbroken) I sure wanted to go.

Hmmm this oughta be an interesting couple to have come visit. Cala on valium and Jo hitting the sauce! LOL Has me wondering who will do the driving. giggle. Hey, can you guys mount some of those webcams on the windshield both facing you and looking out the window? Maybe Dave can set up a special forum and on one link we can feel like we are looking out the window, along on your trip and on the other we can feel like we are right there talking to you! Now, wouldn't that be fun!

Hey, do you guys have to go straight up the coast or do you think you could possibly zig zag your way up there? LOL You could hit Peggy's house, then two hours later hit mine, head on up and do the Newark bunch then swerve off to the coast! Hey, I'd even go to Peggy's if I knew when you were going to be there! I want to see you too! I want to hug you both too!!

Gee Whizz, (Singing).. "if you go ziggin an zaggin your way up there", (To Maine isn't it?)........Cincinnati and Newark are only each about 2 hrs from my little town of Wapakoneta, OH, right on I75, exit 111.

Would be great!........If you were to visit everyone you would probably have to take an extra week.

Vic...methinks you are a sneaky one!! I am from Beckley, WV...and the last time I looked, I-77 goes from Columbia, SC...right on up to Cleveland, OH! HMM...now I wonder how much farther it would be to come back from Portland through Buffalo, NY...and Cleveland and Cincinnati? Gotta look at the map before Calalily does!!! LOL Jo

Jo, just so I put my little teeny feet on the soil of Maine and can say I've been there, (plus visit Poppysue and Snowhermit and Crestedchick) I don't care where else you lead me.
