Honors day at school

My 11 year old grandson finished the fifth grade and will be moving to a middle school next year. He was one of 5 students that got an award for all A's from kindergarden through the fifth grade. We are so proud of him. Also was selected to introduce the main speaker at the ceromony.

We still have next week of school, but it isn't a normal week of course.. We don't have any middle chool here, only ala-aste ('lower school') ylä-aste ('upper school'), then lukio (high school) - or ammattikoulu (trade school) and then yliopisto, if you want to go there.

I will go to 8th grade next year.
