I thought this was a little scary looking. The guy is digging with the backhoe and all four wheels are off the ground and over the hole. I've never seen a backhoe in action before, it's kind of neat.

I grew up on a farm. This is common (we had a backhoe). It's done for balance.

I have never had to do that but have seen it! I run our back hoe here on the farm-someday dh will come home and say what the *&&*^&^ i said no pond!!! heheeeee

Dori! I never thought of that, as long as we have the backhoe here, I could talk DH into digging the *small* hole for the pond? Yippee! Great idea! Even if I don't get to finishing it for awhile, the hole will still be dug! Gonna have to do some sweet talking tonight I think. ;) Two to three feet deep, right? I can fill in the ledges and such later.

Vic and Michele, yes, we are breaking ground and on our way! Very scary indeed! I hope I can keep my sanity for the next 5 months or so.
