What I miss most in PDB

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Unless I'm missing something, there used to be a little descripion by the members photos, usually stating what the name of the plant is, when there's many that fit under the same catagory.

For instance, tonight I was looking at foxgloves.

There's many photos posted, and I think there used to be a place where the submitter could say what it's name was, like if it was 'Pam's Choice' or something other. Am I wrong or do many foxgloves fit under Digitalis purpurea? There's many pictures, and most all look different, but no names so I can see which is which? I'm getting a little confused here, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I use PDB lots for identification purposes and learning what different plants look like.

I think that's still there, but it has to be submitted with the photograph. If the poster didn't put a description in at the time the image was posted, just the photo shows up. Some of those foxglove had descriptions above them once you enlarged the thumbnail. Is that what you're talking about, Joan?

Okay, thanks Kimberley. I wasn't enlarging each photo, just looking at the thumbnails. Once I enlarged several of them I do see a description if there was one submitted. The thumbnails are so clear that I didn't feel the need to enlarge them. I will start doing that now though. Thanks.

What I miss most about the old PDB is the link to the public journals of those who have any given plant. I always felt comfortable knowing that if I had a question about that plant, I could contact one of those people who had it in their journal, and ask them :)

You know, Terry, I was thinking the same thing. I liked the links to the plants in members' journals, too. Dave, is that something that can be brought back without a lot of fuss on your part?

Yep, it sure can. I'll get this feature worked back in. Please remind me if it doesn't happen within a timely manner. :)

Kewl! Will do. And thanks! :-)
